No LTE is the reason it was sold out world wide so quickly. LTE is big in North America, not so much anywhere else at the moment.

And far too many different bands for LTE. Sounded like you'd pretty much need a custom phone for each region.

Noticed the Nexus 10 also sold out both versions as well.

Yeah I noticed that too, so I picked up the 32GB Nexus 7 for my wife for Christmas.

I wonder if Google is actually having supply issues because they didn't forecast for enough units (i.e. didn't learn from the Nexus 7 mess) or LG/Samsung itself is having manufacturing issues keeping up with the number of orders Google is putting in.

Most of it is probably just from lack of experience in retail sales. You could say that for an analytic company with so much information processing power it shouldn't matter but to launch a device globally is no small feat.

Only can hope that they'll learn from this and implement a better system (ticket numbers, limits on multiple orders)

Btw, if anyone is experiencing bad battery life on their phones after 4.2 update it seems there's a problem where the screen wakes up randomly with certain apps on background updates. I have this issue right now.

Yeah, sounds like Nexus 5 should have LTE and a lot of the other features that people are complaining are absent on Nexus 4. Plus, it's going to be HTC rather than LG.

There is the possibility still of having multiple Nexus "4"'s out this year still. The rumour was Google had multiple manufacturers building Nexus devices. In a couple of months there is a chance there will be more than one current Nexus phone to choose from.

Nexus 10 devices weren't apparently showing up as being in stock again. That was a few hours ago, so probably sold out already again.

Looks like the Nexus 4 has an LTE chip in it.

Sounds like Google Music has gotten a free matching service which should save a bunch of uploading:

http://www.theverge.com/2012/11/16/3...d-match-europe

It apparently already works in Europe and the US should be coming soon, so hopefully it'll work in Canada too. I tried with a UK proxy but it didn't seem to work even though I downloaded the latest version of the program. I guess we'll see if it'll work from Canada.

I was starting to wonder about my decision to buy a Galaxy Nexus, until I read that while it has a chip, it doesn't have an LTE antenna or amplifier.

In related news, I got my Galaxy Nexus (yes, I'm a year behind) yesterday, and am loving it. My only gripe so far is with the slipperiness of it. I have become an all-out htc-hater, but I will say that the soft-touch material they use on the back of some of their phones is just the end-all to how the back of phones should feel. I believe the Nexus 7 has similar material.

After a couple days with the Nexus 7, the only thing I don't like as of right now is the lack of a vibrator. Otherwise it is simply an amazing device.

Not too happy with my Nexus 7 right now. The cheap USB plug in is already "broken". I have to put something heavy to weigh the cord down to charge the damn thing now. When I plug in my cord nothing happens unless I push down .. I guess it got bent some how. Now I get the pleasure of paying to ship it off to ASUS for them to fix and get it back in a month.

I sent my nexus 7 back to Asus because the speaker was blown.
