Why would new, non returning users even know of this thread? or think to look themselves up here to see if people are speculating that they are returning users?

As vain as it sounds I searched for my username in the search bar to see if anyone had quoted me in the CBA threads and I just didn't notice.
This gem of a topic popped up and I was quite interested to read what was going on.

The other painfully obvious trend in returning posters is the 3 posters out, 3 posters in phenomenon.
3's just an example. But whenever you see 3 or 4 high profile, high post count posters get the boot one week. The next two weeks, without fail, you see 3 or 4 new posters show up and start posting like crazy and knowing the ins and outs of CP.
We're seeing it right now. We had a few guys get the boot in late October, early November, and like clockwork we're seeing three or four new guys posting all over the place, who clearly know this place.

It's amazing isn't it?
The thread has turned into a fun one but I started it as a way to curb returning posters. The mods either ignored my ideas or don't like them, which is fine but I really wish there was a way to limit the involvement of new posters. The way a guy gets banned and just comes back like gang busters under a new account annoys me.

Well I don't follow along near as much as you guys, but I'd venture a guess that just because it annoys you isn't reason enough for the mods to subnet ban their IP address.
