Is it worth it to get lasik surgery for eyes that are -1.00 and -0.75?

I'm at the point of needing to wear glasses all the time and I don't want to. I currently just wear glasses for driving.

I'm having difficulties seeing properly with sports like tennis, ball hockey, and ice hockey (especially when the lighting is poor). I'm worried that Lasik surgery will effect my hand-eye coordination. How did you find playing sports after the surgery?

Hesla.. What are your thoughts on ICLs? To me this seems like a better way to go then LASIK.. The idea of burning off a layer of cornia (and risking corneal ectasia) scares me.

Is there a limit to how bad your eyes can be to get laser surgery? My right is -9.25 and my left is -7.00 hahahaha

To bring up the discussion on amblyopia again, Hesla, is there any explanation as to why my optometrist perscribed me glasses even though I was well past the age of effective treatment and have near perfect vision in my healthy eye? I believe I was 13 when the glasses were purchased.

I asked this at my last appointment with a different doctor and he couldn't think of a legitimate reason.

I never wore the glasses (literally. ever.) and my vision stayed the same in both eyes. Seems like they were a huge waste of money outside of allowing me to do the drivers test.

Also, is there anyway to get rid of the condition to wear glasses on my drivers lisence? It is pretty dumb considering the frame of the glasses blocks my peripherals when driving anyways and it's not like they help with the actual amblyopia itself.

Does Gimbl have a 'sister' clinic in Winnipeg? I'm looking to get mine done as well and would prefer not to use Lasik to do it.

It is the future likely , but not proven long term as of yet. A good option for High Myopes and non laser candidates.

Yeah, not going help with the Amblyopia, but may reduce eye strain ( ease the burden of the good eye a bit). I would try them at the computer and if they do nothng put them in the drawer and forget about them.

Depends on corneal thickness. Some - 4 or 5 people do not have the required corneal thickness.
