Odds makers put the odds of the Jays winning the World Series:
Before the trade at 100:1
After the Blockbuster trade at 15:1

Why is Wilner insisting that the Jays can't add anymore payroll.
"They're at 120 million, they can't add anymore. All you people calling asking for more trades and more stars are crazy. They'll be fine now, even with Rajai Davis in LF."
Says who?

So wtf ... I work late and the Blue Jays turn the world upside down.
I still think we're missing a legit workhorse Ace ... but not much else now.

The deal establishes the Blue Jays as a team to be reckoned with in the American League East next season. If Johnson stays healthy and Buehrle can make a seamless adjustment back to the American League, they'll combine with Ricky Romero and Brandon Morrow to give Toronto a potentially formidable rotation. Throw Reyes and Bonifacio at the top of the order -- on turf, no less -- and the over/under on Jose Bautista's RBI total should begin at 150.
Anthopoulos will no doubt have some fascinating details to share at a news conference to come. At the very least, we now know why he was a little behind in his search for a new manager to replace John Farrell.

I like that the Jays are finally trying to become relevant....only time will tell if they can compete now.

I don't know if anyone of you follow Barry Davis on Twitter, but you should. When he covers the Jays he is top notch and answers a ton of fan questions.
His handle is @SNBarryDavis

There's been talk about a possible hole in LF, but I guess I'll throw this out there.................
What if they do start the season with Davis in LF? I know some may not think it's the ideal situation, but I look at the speed that we could see in the lineup, especially if we see Rajai in the 9 spot.
You could have Davis hitting 9th and Reyes 1st. Massive speed there setting the table for the 2/3/4 guys. And who's in the 2 spot? Lawrie?

They mentioned this briefly on SN Connected tonight. But was Ozzie Guillen's tweet a push for the manager's opening in T.O., or just kind words?

The Jays did all this without giving up TDA?
That is pretty amazing.

Next trade: Mike Trout for Bautista + prospect.
Jays would pretty much have the WS locked up.

I'd like to see a manager get a little creative with Davis - have a guy like Cooper lead off every away game and instantly sub him out for Davis.
It would artificially elevate Davis' SB potential (since he would be inheriting Cooper's OBP once a game) and there would be no impact on the defense.
Would shorten the bench a player, but the Jays essentially played a whole season down a bench player last year (Vizquel).

My reaction to trade. Wow.
I realize the Jays inherited a tonne of risk, but this is a massive move - and exactly the type of trade I hadn't even hoped to hope for; increased something like 12 WAR.
This also makes the Jays a much more attractive destination for anyone they are chasing (and maybe makes the rest of the AL East less attractive) - an impactful move at the start of free agency.
Ant's ability to move non-top-tier prospects for high returns is admirable. And it also reflects well on his ability to keep moves quiet. Imagine being a Marlin' fans and hearing the rumours about trading these players for prospects - which Jays prospects would you be figuring on getting? Local blowback isn't a factor until after the ink is dry.

Kudos to AA for building a bullpen as cost effective as he did. He put together what looks like an incredibly strong group of arms at an incredibly low price. Now one would hope that Darren Oliver would come back for one more year after this trade.

Great to see something good happen to this franchise. I just hope that the dark cloud that seems to follow this team around dissipates.

After a night of digesting this deal - I just want to say... BOOYAH!!! Still hard to believe we were able to upgrade our ss, two sp, and a platoon player who is capable of swiping 50 bags in Bonifacio. The immediate help to this lineup is insane, we finally landed a capable leadoff hitter of hitting .280+, 40 sb, and driving in 50 runs. I am still having a hard time controlling my excitement over this.
Up next - JPA for Ike Davis
