Yeah, completely agree. Keep those guys and we're in very good shape.
This immediately makes the Jays a contender in the AL East and the offseason has only just begun!

Also a little surprised a catcher hasn't been mentioned going back to Miami... I have no clue what to make of this anymore - my mind is in a trance, and I think I like it. If true, we'd have JPA, TDA, Buck, Mathis, Wilson as catchers.... could there be more shuffling to come?

This is why you build up a farm system though FYI as a lot of people are saying AA finally caved. Jays don't lose any on field talent and still might be able to have one of the strongest farm systems if the names given up are it

don't want to get ahead of it but
Reyes
Bonificio
Bautista
Encarnation
Lawrie
Rasmus
Lind/1b
JPA/TDA
2b/LF (depending on where Bonificio plays)
JJ
Morrow
Beurhle
Romero
Hutchison?
that's the strongest team (on paper) in the AL East

The Blue Jays and Marlins major league teams basically just merged in to one (minus Stanton)

"The Red Sox's Cuban shortstop prospect Jose Iglesias gets a lot of ink, but 2009 defectee Hechavarria is probably the superior player. In MLB terms, Hechavarria is an 'offensive-minded' shortstop in the Cal Ripken mode: a high-average hitter with above-average power. At the plate so far, though, his spray chart looks a little more like Ichiro Suzuki: he has a knack for finding infield holes and hitting behind runners."
Two months into 2012, Adeiny Hechavarria's adjustment period looks to be very much a thing of the past, and he is continuing to live up to the offensive potential scouts saw in the young Cuban two seasons ago. After sixty games at AAA Vegas, Hechavarria's .332/.376/.461 line comes out as a .837 OPS, plenty good enough for a pro shortstop. We'd like to see him take a few more walks, but that's nitpicking ...

@jonmorosi Source: #Marlins will get Jacob Marisnick or Anthony Gose, as well as a catcher -- Arencibia, Wilson or Mathis.

And who's to suggest they aren't players in free agency yet? Suddenly Toronto just became that much more desirable a destination (assuming this all goes through) for free agents.
Not saying they'll have any more money to spend, but if there is can you imagine?

It was the type of deal that AA had to make eventually. Having a top ranked prospect system is fun for the fans and better than having crap but it often doesn't result in wins on the field.
With the money Rogers has good (for Blue Jay fans) to see them willing to take on a lot of salary to get some talent at the big league level.

yep, don't even need a big name
there will be cheap options that are upgrades on Lind easily, maybe even a SP like McCarthy for below value

I like Arencibia, because he was a good guy, but we have a near future replacement. Gose looks like a great guy to have in your OF. With him there The Jays would have the best defensive OF in the league, so it would really suck losing him. Not sure how I feel about Gose being included.
