Mouse mass murder - Recommendations?
Ok, so I've had an on again off again issue with mice in my house. I had poison traps for a while, the kind that they eat over a few days and die. I've gone around and plugged the holes I can find with steel wool.
However ... I remain with guest. Does anyone have any recommendations for either a good pest control company that can get to the source (I live in an apartment building) or go through the place, find the holes and deal with them?
I'm over it at this point, I've had three distinct periods of ripping my home apart to clean up and hunt for entrances. I want a pro, but don't know who to go to.

The best solution is eliminate all food sources. That could mean a thorough clean up, then becoming fastidious about not leaving scraps anywhere including dishes in the sink and dirty stoves/ovens, etc. If you are a messy person like me, you have to learn to clean as you go, and make it a habit.

Not sure who to recommend as a professional but in the meantime, in my experience, the only traps that really worked were dollar store glue traps. Maybe not pretty but effective.

Lure them to a location in your house, trap them in a cage, then train them to be your slaves. Not saying its gonna work, but it's worth a shot.

Yeah, I'm way past caring about pretty or humane.

We've just recently dealt with a minor mouse problem. We were lucky there were only a few of them. We used the plastic snap traps as well as poison. Try finding holes where they're coming out and throw some poison in there. The more you can get to eat the poison, the less breeding adults. But it might just be a lost cause if you're in an apartment and they're everywhere. We used sticky traps, but we had huge mice and they managed to pull themselves off the sticky traps.

You can also try one of those sonic mouse things. We leave one plugged in at the cabin when we aren't there...seems to work.

I had a mouse problem with 10 traps with peanut butter later we killed over 100 of them (living by a field has some drawbacks)

For me peanut butter as bait in the traps is the way to go. If you're catching a bunch though, you may have to find the nest and destroy it as well.

Or a cat. Even just the presence or smell of a cat will drive them away.

I don't like poison, they could die and rot in your wall, plus it's not as satisfying--no visible results. Buy some wooden traps at the dollar store and keep setting them until they're wiped out. Also scan the perimeter for holes, they can get in a hole the size of your index finger.

I was also going to suggest this as a friend of mine has had success with one of these.

They will inspect the place to find the access points and plant poison as well. Their trucks are unmarked and they have some sort of 6 month 'guarantee'. It'll cost a couple hundred bucks but worth it if they eliminate the problem.
I hate mice. They worked for me anyway.
