Default Things to do in BC

So GF and I would like to get away for a week or so.. thinking of driving to BC to get away for a bit. What is there to do>???
Mainly just want to relax, we don't golf and she doesn't ski/board.
Also thinking of going up to Banff/surrounding area as well.

I'm not sure how the highway is, but the drive from Calgary to Jasper is one of the best damn rides in the country. The town is cool and there are plenty of cabin's to rent.

It's a far more beautiful drive in the summer or especially fall when the leaves are changing colors. This time of year there's not much to see except for white. The OP should be getting away to a warm destination this time of year.

I disagree, but summer is pretty specatcular. This time of year the issue is that the road is maintained less than some, so it can be a white-knuckler if the conditions don't go your way.

Depends on time of year... are you coming out right now, during the winter or next summer/spring? Even though your gf doesn't ski a good ski resort would be best in a couple weeks I think, there's loads of stuff to do there. All the better hills in BC have little villages right on the mountain with bars and restaurants that really have a festive atmosphere all winter. Then in the day you can go tubing, skating, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, hayrides, ski-dooing or whatever you're into. At Big White they have a fireworks show every night and there's always lots of little activities going on to entertain you.

Revy is probably the best mountain for riding these days (subjective) but Big White and Silver Star in the Okanagan are both great resorts with all the activities list above and Whistler Blackcomb is awesome (biggest hill in BC and maybe a bit fancier/more upscale atmosphere whereas Big White is the 2nd biggest but more of a family kinda vibe).

If you go down to check out Whistler you could stop for 2 or 3 days in Vancouver and work in some live music, check out the aquarium and granville island... both nice little tourist excursions - bring a raincoat.

If you don't ski/board, or golf...you might as well just save your money and go to Montana instead.
