every last bit? the skull in particular must have been a little hard to choke down. i get them not having the actual actress playing dead for contractual reasons, but at least make the scene a bit more messy if that's the case

Took me a second to pick that up when watching it too. Then I saw how big and full that zombie was, and it call became clear to me!

So if the zombie ate Lori, who were the three graves they dug for? T-Dog, Carol and an empty one for Lori? Seems like kind of a waste of time.
And does anybody else find it weird how Carol got killed off? No on-screen death, no scene finding her body, just a bloodied rag, then hardly any mention or thoughts about her by anybody. I'd have though maybe Daryl at least would have been a bit choked about her death considering how close the two became over the Sophia thing. She walks out a door after T-Dog's heroic self sacrifice to save her... and disappears from the show.

Carol is not dead yet, in the scenes from next week....
As for the gave comment they dug the graves for T-Dawg and Lori, it just turns out that Lori was eaten by a walker and had no need for a grave.

In The Talking Dead, the director from last night's episode confirmed that Lori's body was dragged around the corner and eaten. Hence the big bloody smear that Rick examines on the floor. So while we never see Lori's body, she's gone.
At first, I thought the stabbing of the distended belly was symbolic of Rick's hatred of 'his' new baby and the loss of his wife. I hope Rick does't hate the baby.

I don't understand the 3 graves either. The only body they had to bury was T Dogs.
Michone goes sword crazy...Rick goes axe crazy...amazing special effects once again! I was worried that as the season went on they would start cheaping out on the effects.

I think the other graves (for Carol and Lori) were symbolic. Glenn was really serious and talking about how they're family, so I guess they wanted to memorialize Carol and Lori with a gravesite.
Only Carol's not dead yet....

yeah the whole grave thing was a bit silly. I am also having troubles with the Woodbury story line. I dont feel like I am getting drawn into what is happening over there. That said I am sure there will be a big bomb dropped that will make me oooh ok, now I see. That said as of now, I do not find myself on the edge of my seat waiting for scenes from Woodbury

Or they died from the initial virus (which the show has never really touched on). Everyone is a carrier, so when you die, you become a walker.
It's not the bite the kills - it's the accompanying (and quick) virus. Thus Hershel was saved by quickly getting rid of the infected area.

I think the grave thing was Glenn's attempt at holding on to reality. When people die, we bury them (typically). In a world gone to hell, I think the survivors are doing anything and everything to hold on to their sanity.
Is it better to mourn T-Dawg at an empty grave or to find his chewed up body inside the prison?
We saw that with Darryl's flower on Carol's grave. The survivors still need to mourn.

Good points - I do find it weird that Carol was not mentioned at all in the dialogue in this episode - they went on for half a season about Sophia yet Carol disappears and nobody says a thing...

That, and at this point, they are planning on staying at the prison. It would make sense to do things that humans do when they have settled somewhere.
Kind of bugs me that people seem to be more interested in finding holes in the plot than in enjoying the show.
Speaking of enjoying the show, I will enjoy it immensely when the kill Andrea. I'd take Lori back to get rid of that bitch.

From the beginning of the story they've said we bury our own and burn the walkers. They've had a number of funerals already and even buried Sofia.
If I am not mistaken one grave is still open, Lori's. But they don't know that she's been eaten. So once they find out I am sure they'll fill in the empty grave and have a funeral...ala Otis. You have to remember only Maggie and Carl know where her body was and Rick is the only guy who's gone in looking for her. So as far as they know her body is still there and will bury her when Rick brings her out.
They assume Carol is dead because all they found was her scarf and therefore made an empty grave for her.
They did find T Dog's body. Rick killed the 2 walkers that were eating him near the end of that episode. That's when Daryl found Carol's scarf. There was a goodly amount of him left to bury.

Maybe it is my bad memory, but has anyone actually been bitten or scratched and turned into a zombie, or is it always after the death?
I can only remember people turning after they die.
