Incoming Glendale mayor Jerry Weiers is not keen on city plans to pay Jamison to run the arena and allowing him to collect parking revenue on city-owned lots at Jobing.com Arena and Westgate City Center.
There have been four Glendale council members steadfastly in support of deals to keep the Coyotes and pay prospective owners, such as Jamison, to run the arena.
The most vociferous of those Coyotes advocates, Councilwoman Joyce Clark, lost on Nov. 6 and will be replaced by Sam Chavira.
That is prompting efforts to get the lame-duck council to approve a Coyotes pact before its term ends at the end of the year. Clark mentioned a possible pre-January vote on KDUS-AM 1060.
Jamison and Glendale City Manager Horatio Skeete have been working on a new arena deal after the city backed out of previously approved payment plan brokered by former City Manager Ed Beasley.
City spokeswoman Julie Frisoni said no vote is set.
Opponents of the Coyotes deal want to stop a lame-duck council vote.
“After Tuesday’s elections, most people thought our present council would not close a $320 million hockey deal this late, and instead let the new council deal with this in January, 2013,” said Ken Jones, a community activist opposed to the city’s Coyotes deals.
Jones worries a new deal will be voted on by the lame duck mayor and council and wants to try to stop that from happening.

So explain your need to inject yourself this latest time, and not only that, you feel the need to throw in a completely off topic link and make a snide remark. Clark's response was pretty much certainly directed at a few twitter d-bags, the majority of which identified themselves as Jets or Quebec fans, there's nothing controversial or one sided about stating that fact. There was no reason for you to jump in, and there was certainly no reason for you to continue to be butthurt over something from months ago.
Face it, you can't let things go and act like a grown up. You embarrass yourself with your nonsense points and you embarrass yourself by simply acting like a 12 year old. I've made an effort to simply avoid you across the board, you bring nothing to the table so there's really no loss. Why you can't move on like a normal person I simply do not understand.

You embarrass yourself with your one sided take on the Phoenix situation. A situation that is embarrassing to the NHL and every follower of hockey. You want me to back off but you continue to insult with every post you make. If you can reply with civility I might not bust your balls as much and we can both enjoy this board. I've tried for ages to just reply to your points and not your insults but it's become impossible, so you reap what you sow.

Nothing about what I said was one sided, it was a simple explanation of a tweet.
It's funny that you say it's embarrassing to every follower of hockey, because I follow hockey pretty closely and don't feel an ounce of embarrassment over the business decisions of a corporation that I have no ties to. Why would I? I don't have anything to do with what happens in Phoenix, and as I've said I really don't care what the outcome is.

Is there any way to actually do that? I mean beyond simply appealling to democractic principles regarding the "will of the people".

Question: Is it possible that the whole lockout has a lot to do with helping the southern us keep their nhl teams.
I'm not a cba lockout guru by any means.

This is the reason for the 7 day notice before the vote. The public may file a petition for a referendum.

Any idea if the groups that were previously campaigning against the initiatives are prepping to do so again? I assume they will be, just curious if they're already at it.

Ken Jones, the person who did the original petition to stop the Coyotes deal (the one that didn't pass, not the tax one) has said he's prepared to try to stop the council from voting.

The agreement will be made public on November 20th and voted on November 27th.

That's pretty underhanded in terms of slipping it past the potential objectors and their petitions. Four of those days are essentially dead with the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. People are out of town or consumed with binge eating and shopping.

What about this whole process hasn't been underhanded?
They should put together a one hour presentation on this whole ordeal and force new mayors to watch it, before finally ending with "If you do this, we'll eat your family."
