I was stuck behind a car that waited until the next car in the queue went, even though it had to wait for a pedestrian and it made me wonder if that is really the right protocol.
Also, say two cars could go at the same time without interfering with each other, eg) opposing vehicles both making right or left turns, is it legal (albeit not necessarily safe if one changes their mind)?

I dunno if it's legal, but I personally go if there is a pedestrian in the way of the other car. I would also go at the same time if we're both making left turns.
Keeps traffic flowing.

If you have the right of way, but don't use it, someone else can proceed into the intersection, assuming it is safe to do so.

Can Celiacs eat ham? You know, the big Christmas kind of ham with the bone in it?

Recommendation on a windsheild/dash mount for my iphone 5? Picked up a Rocketfish at bestbuy, and it really doesn't seem to work very well - I think I'm going to return it.

Celiacs can't have wheat, rye or barley, or anything made from any of those grains.
I talked with a celiac at work about it a while back and he pointed me here, saying that you would be suprised at how much stuff he can't eat.

Hipstreet makes a good one. My wife bought it at Winners. It has options for windshield or vent mount.

Stupid Costco, every one of their steaks now have labels saying that they are "mechanically tenderized" and to cook it to an internal temperature of 160 degrees. That isn't going to happen. Time to start buying whole loins and cutting my own.
Where can I get a good butcher knife for this purpose? Not a cheap piece of junk that won't keep an edge but also not a $300 professional chef knife? I was thinking less than $100?

Gluten free, not glutton free.

Thanks for the Lee Valley liink, I'll check them out.

The 'huh' was in regards to the bolded part. What makes mechanically tenderizing them different?

They have a machine that sticks needles into every piece, therefore allowing contamination to get from outside the meat, to the inside of he meat.

That is thought to be the way that some people got sick in the recent XL Foods debacle. You would think that they would just stop using the tenderizing machines but instead their solution is to tell everyone to cook the hell out of the steaks.

When I was downtown today at noon, I saw an elderly man on 8th Ave and 5th St SW with a sign that said "Nenshi is a fat pig" and was handing out pamplets. I didn't take one - I overheard him say to someone else who wouldn't take one "This is for smart people only so you wouldn't understand it". Anyhoo, anyone know who that loony is and what his gripe is with Nenshi?
