[Trade]Bruins acquire Mike Green

The Boston Bruins made a move today trading Tom Gilbert, Jannik Hansen and Tom Erixon to the Nashville Predators in exchange for Mike Green, Jordan Tootoo and Sean Bergenheim.

Comments from the departing Bruins as they packed up their belongings were mixed. Jannik Hansen was visibly upset, "My GM, Mr. ZEN27 assured me on multiple occasions I wasn't going to be moved. I thought he spoke the truth. He preached a family atmosphere around here...so much for tha..." Jannik then broke into tears, sobbing uncontrollably.

Tom Gilbert was quiet but said, "It's a business, I understand why it happened. We've been struggling as a team. It will be nice to be moved to a contender. I also welcome the move to the Western Conference so I don't have to play Ottawa anymore. That team gives me nightmares. Please tell me Nashville doesn't have to play Ottawa in their schedule...anyone, please for the love of Todd Bertuzzi..."

Tim Erixon had a grin from ear to ear. "I didn't like it here in Boston, I wont keep it a secret. Our GM ZEN27 constantly refered to me as Tom or little beeeatch. My name is Tim dammit. TIM. It's been horrible here for me. I have wanted to go to the Rangers since I was a little girl, so this is a dream come tr...wait what do you mean Nashville? I said I wanted to be a Ranger! He said he traded me to the Rangers! I mean I'm Tom Frickin Erixon! TIM I mean! My name is TIMMM!"

The Bruins GM had this to say, "Nashville GM Igitang was relentless. No matter how many times I told him that Jannik was untouchable he wouldn't take no for an answer. When he dangled the name Mike Green I had to listen. Plus I got that little beeeeatch Tommy Erixon off of this team. I *snicker* told him he was being traded to the Rangers. Some of the guys were complaining about the Oiler and Canuck stench in the lockerroom, this move clears the air a bit. I like screaming "Tootoo Train!!!" as well, so this move pleases me. I'm happy with this trade, hopefully the new guys can help lead this team into a playoff spot by the end of the year."

On tuesday morning, the Preds GM contacted his incoming players to let them know the team was looking forward to the elements each player brought.

Igitang had this to say about his phone calls this morning.

"I spoke with Jannik, i told him about how i had been pursuing him since the beginning of the season. It was just a matter of time that i was able to put together the right package to acquire him".

The Preds GM, and possible candidate for GM of the year had also chatted with Dman Tom Gilbert briefly Tuesday and had this to say "GIlbert is one of the most under rated and overlooked dmen in the league. He rounds out our top 4 quite nicely as he is solid on both ends of the ice. Losing Green is defenitely something that had to be looked at and not done with haste. But when looking at our backends offensive capabilities, moving Greener made sense".

When asked about newly acquired d-prospect Erixon the Preds GM appeared frustrated and began to laugh. "I recieved a voicemail this morning from Tom" said Igitang. Someone yelled from the back of the room "Tim!!". "whatever" Igitang replied. "this guy leaves me a message saying hes in New York and he cant seem to find the car service that was to collect him. Says he wants to get to the Arena asap so he can talk with his new linemate Michalek. Michalek is my top pairing guy along with All-Star dman Duncan Keith. Does this kid think hes even in my top 6?!".

If Erixon manages to find his way to Nashville, he may be in for a surprise with his name on a chair in the press box.
