What did Canadians do to Glendale? I didn't hear anything about riots or terrorist acts.

It would be particularly ballsy of an outgoing "lame duck" counsel to commit the City to a deal of this magnitude.

So short of riots or terrorist attacks any behavior is all good?
It was a twitter post, likely in reference to the multitude of dbags who have hounded her on twitter, the majority of which appear to be Jets or Quebec fans.

I agree. That puts the deal in peril, in my opinion. Joyce Clark getting bounced also sends a huge message to the rest of council.
As it stands, she may abstain from voting because of the criticism she would been under and if that's the case now you're down to a 3-3 tie which outgoing Mayor Scruggs would shoot down.
And if she doesn't, knowing that she was bounced and the fact it's normally difficult for an incumbent to lose, that might make the remaining councillors gun shy.

I don't look at it as a Canada versus the US issue other than there are fans deserving a team in Canada while there isn't enough in Phoenix. If say Colorado was in financial trouble, I'd give them a lot more leeway to keep their team then I would in Arizona for the simple fact that they have shown support for their team. In 15 years at no time has Phoenix shown consistent support for their team. They've lost money every year.
Just in case Valo wants a quote and a link although he'll never read it.

While some wonder whether Jamison’s group – which remains anonymous – can put together the money, the bigger question perhaps is why would anyone want to own a team that has never made money since it moved to Arizona in 1996.

Whether or not you want think the coyotes could work, the city of Glendale cannot afford this team. They're taking money away from services like police, fire and ambulance to subsidize a hockey team that the area has maybe a passing affinity for.
Glendale has far bigger things to worry about than a hockey team, and subsidizing millionaire entertainers who play to hit men esque crowds live with a whopping 3k tv audience is only a slightly better use of money than just setting it on fire.

Why would anyone want to buy a team when the league is locked out? Once the CBA is finalized I'm sure a long list of suitors will be interested in buying the team.

And why would I read anything from you? Particularly when I wasn't having a conversation with you?
I didn't say it was a Canada-US thing, the point is that a contingent of Canadians seem to be treating it as such and in the process have been acting like morons on twitter. Hence her response.

Then cut your losses. Manage the arena, but don't throw another dime into that financial sinkhole. It does not work. It can not work. Not now, not ever. If you've sat through a movie for 90 minutes and it's been utter dog crap, would you hold out hope that it was gonna get really good in the last 20? No, you'd walk out.
Phoenix is a disaster. It is hockey kryptonite. I don't understand how anyone can look at the plethora of FACTS available and still make a compelling argument for the Coyotes to remain in that location. If there was ever a point in time since they got there that they were viable and held local interest, then maybe there'd be a reason for this debacle. There's nobody. If you add up the average TV numbers and average attendance for this franchise, I don't believe you actually fill the building. It's DEAD.
The people have spoken. They want this team gone. I know Canadians with houses down there love the idea of going to a hockey game where they get everything but oral for 29 bucks a seat, but the math doesn't work. Move on.

If you don't want to read anything from me, why have you asked me for the same link three or four times?
Hey you're fair game just like anybody else.
This from your alter ego and the Clark woman said she had a Canadian problem. As usual you just ignore the subject and make up your own crap. Your continual defence of the Phoenix franchise staying in Arizona is mindless. I can understand Bouw N Arrow as he has stake in this but you and Resolute have nothing.

I sure as hell didn't ask for a useless link to an article from May. You decide, in your typical mature fashion, to inject yourself into a conversation for no reason. Congrats on once again exposing yourself as a child.
For the record, I don't give a damn where any NHL franchise besides the Rangers, Islanders, Devils and Flames are located. The first 3 impact me because I go to their games, the last one impacts me because I'm a fan, the rest mean virtually nothing to me.

Valo is right, there were a small but fairly idiotic and somewhat nasty contingent of Canadians acting like asshats in the discussion down there. Mostly Twitter. Say what you want in your own circles, but when you're going to the council (figuratively, through social media), it's pretty silly and very 'unCanadian'.

There probably is a nasty contingent of Canadians but that doesn't mean that Canadian hockey fans and really all hockey fans don't have good reasons for the movement of the Coyotes franchise.

So why at every opportunity do you defend the Coyotes franchise?

I don't, I defend the NHL making what it thinks is the best business decision, and up to this point that has been to keep the team in Phoenix and have it essentially paid for by the local government. It's about the biggest no brainer I've ever seen in professional sports.

What reasons would those be? I've asked this many times before, why does anyone particularly care about the geographic location of the Phoenix Coyotes? What actual impact does it have on you?

The local government doesn't cover all the loses.
