For a first year player,Reinhart must definitely have the confidence of the coaches as he plays on the power play, the penalty kill as well as even strength. He does a very good job in all situations and seems to always be in the right place. It is definitely a pleasure to watch him out there.
Also he and Horak seem to have very good chemistry.

$1.76 Million Abbotsford Heat Loss
Has anybody been paying attention to the deepening financial crisis in Abbotsford.
This week the City of Abbotsford announced it would have to fork over $1.76 Million to subsidize the Heat.
Thursday attendance against the Marlies was only 1951.

On top of everything else, the Heat have gone 39/40 on the PK through 9 games. Insanity. 1st in the league.. obviously.
The only time they've lost in regulation and let that PK goal in was on the 3rd in 3 days. These guys are GOOD.

Pretty quite night for our prospects. Only notable is Brossoit, stopped 27 of 28, first star. Nice to see him get the win.

Yeah, be nice to see him get on a roll and gain some confidence. Still lots of time to make a run at being a goalie on the WJC team.

I'm worried about the Heat's defense when Brodie goes back up to Calgary.
Brodie is logging approx. 22 min per game. McCarthy is next with 18-20 min. Who's going to replace Brodie's minutes?
Breen has shown he's in the best shape of his life and is playing extraordinary right now. Maybe he can?
I'm starting to think getting rid of Wilson was a mistake.

Well that is a complicated statement for a few reasons.
1) Wilson was on a one-way deal. Is his case not exactly the same as Brett Carson who couldn't be assigned to the Heat during the lockout because of the one-way deal? Wouldn't this have ruled Wilson ineligible to be sent down during the lockout?
2) If the league started back up do you think the Flames would have been ecstatic about paying him a pretty hefty amount to play in the AHL on his one-way NHL salary?
3) Wilson wanted out. Do you think it would have been healthy to deny him the opportunity to play abroad and have a player in the locker room logging huge minutes who didn't want to be there and wasn't really a prospect?
4) Another contract on the books would have made 48 I believe and given the Flames very little flexibility for signing any college free agents next spring and the like. As well it would make it even harder to ink McCarthy to an NHL deal if they need him as a depth defenceman.
Obviously Wilson was amazing for the Heat last year. But you can't just say they made a mistake by not bringing him back without considering all the ramifications of that decision.

Once the lockout ends, Carson will likely get sent down, so he can take over Brodie's minutes.

Fair enough. I guess I should rephrase it as "I wish Wilson hadn't left/been released."
Either way, with Brodie gone, I hope someone can step up and get his minutes.

Brett Carson wasn't on the playoff roster so he wasn't eligible to sign an AHL contract this year, Wilson actually would have been I believe.
Other than that I agree with everything.

Both games against OKC are sold out, as per the team's official Twitter account.
