I was a critic of his work on 960, but I wish him the best in whatever comes next.

Was definitely critical of his work, but realize that I personally could do no better, and that it is a difficult job. Best of luck in your next job sir.

One can only hope the station brings in someone who minimizes the Steinbag whining/arguing this time around.

How about Dan Tencer? I thought he was rumored to be coming here before Griffiths took the job.

Agreed, they need someone who can jump in to break up his cyclical monologues.

How about Peter Lombardias (sp?)!
Or maybe Kerr returns on a part time basis? (ie while there is no hockey & or between games)

I know the Fan 960 has brought in some guys from up north before, but why would they want to bring in Tencer?

He's an Oilers guy. I dont think many Flames fans would want him covering the team/he probably would rather continue covering the Oilers.

I will reserve full judgement until Steinberg has a strong partner but yeah he struggled mightily lately trying to carry the show.

He did the same thing with Kerr.

I personally cant stand Steinberg, i find him combative, condescending, arrogant in his opinions and lacks knowledge in any sport beyond hockey. I didnt like him with Kerr and found Peter Lou carries the show when he subs in.

Not sure anyone is going to wow us with Steinberg as co-host. JMO.

After this thread came around I listened to the afternoon show a few times to check out Bryn again and I agree with Rich for some part. I was shocked at how combative Steinberg was. Just didn't even attempt to work with a differing opinion at all. I don't remember him being like that with Kerr ... so maybe it was just with Bryn. We'll find out I guess.

Overall though, the guy knows his Flames.

I think Steinberg needs a partner that has a stronger personality than him. He needs a Kerr or a Boomer to keep him in check. The thing with Bryn is, because he wasn't opinionated enough and too nice of a guy, he let Steinberg walk all over him.

Because Bryn was not educated enough to make a compelling arguement to Steinberg's opinion. My biggest beef with Bryn was his lack of knowledge when trying to go against Steinberg and he gets steamrolled every time.

I am glad Byrn is moving on and wish him the best in the future. Sure seems like a nice guy but the fit wasn't right here in Calgary. I just hope the FAN doesn't bring in someone from Edmonton again to fill the role.

I know this will NEVER happen but I would love Mike Richards back in the morning and Boomer to be the man in the afternoon. That or Loubo back on SN and Kerr back on in the afternoon. Neither will happen so I hope they get the right guy this time around

How about they drop an hour of local afternoon programming and pick up Hockey Central at Noon from Toronto. I'm not usually a big advocate of Toronto programs but it beats hearing Steinberg recycle the same news hourly. How many times can a guy talk about Drew Tate starting as quarterback.

Would be shocked if Pedersen even thought about moving here. He has the PBP job he has wanted since he was a kid plus a 2 hour daily show.
Also, he has a wife and kids in Regina, and has said that in the past he has refused job offers from bigger markets because of his family.

Oh god please not Rod Peterson that would be a horrible choice and have people begging for Bryn to come back.

I never want to hear Loubardias on Flames games again but outside of the period where he was a bitter ###### he is pretty good on the radio. If he is over his bitterness he would be a good choice but I doubt he wants to give up his junior gigs to move to radio full-time.
