The offense is top ten in the league for points or as a team thy are? There's a big difference.

Tactical error by the Cowboys. Tried a 54-yard FG missed. Now Atlanta doesn't try a 54-yard FG and punts the ball down to the 2. Field position has flipped, could be costly in a game like this.

I feel as if Tony Romo is getting Derek Jetere'd a littel bit. So many people call him overrated, he's actually quite underrated. Will never be an elite QB in this league but he's still, very, very good.

I did say top ten team. Not offense.

It isnt as big a deal as you think though. Considering they lead so often and run so effectively they aren't going to put up the yards totals playing a clock management game

Not because of their offense....at least not mainly....and they dont pass for big yds every week because, they cant. They dont have the personnel for it.

Yes...their offense is subpar....at best....and unless they figure it out soon, its going to catch up to them.

Impressive drive to finish off the half by the Falcons. Hopefully we'll get a more exciting second half.

It takes a lot for me to get choked up, watching Chuck Pagano's speech after the game did it for me today:

I don't think the Bears offense is half as bad as people say it is on here but it will need to win them some games, It is scary to think of this team having to come back in a game with that offensive line. Next two weeks should give us a good measuring stick of where this team is at.

Just to put into perspective how unusual the defense of the Bears is contributing to the pts total they have been....

Quote:
Urlacher’s first-quarter INT return for a TD gave the defense its seventh INT return score of the season, which ties for the third most in a season in NFL history. The 1961 Chargers (9) and 1998 Seahawks (8) are the only two teams to score more defensive TDs.

With Urlacher’s score, the Bears became the first team in NFL history to return seven INTs for TDs in the first eight games of a season. The Bears are also the first team with INT returns for TDs in five games during a six-game span since the ’61 Chargers
Remarkable stuff.

I seriously can't believe how the Colts get to draft Manning...than suck one year and get Andrew Luck. If Pagano sticks around long enough, he'll get him a Lombardi trophy or two.

Also Adrian Peterson is some kind of awesome to be playing the way he is, this soon after that injury he suffered last year. Unfortunately for the Vikings, their passing game of behind the line of scrimmage throws to Percy Harvin has dried up.

Wow, at least try to win the game.

Even if you like that pass to Jones, which I don't, he didn't even attempt to do anything with it.

Pathetic.

I don't think the Cowboys practice those end of game hail-mary lateral type plays.

Actually I don't think the Cowboys practice at all during the week.

Romo's just out there playing by himself, he's got no coach.

One more note on the Bears...

After this game the combined record of the teams they have beat this year is 21-36...things change starting next week though.

I can't imagine Payton would leave the Saints, but I have to think Jerry might finally be willing to give up some control, and a heap o cash to get him back in Dallas.

As for the Bears offense...they managed 350 yds against the worst defense in the nfl...a team that routinely gives up well over 400 on average. Cutler has failed to eclipse 200 yds in half his starts. The offense is quite simply...horrible. The defsnse though is a special one, and why that team will make the playoffs...but you have to score pts in this league and particularly as they get into the tough part of their schedule....they really havent beaten anyone of substance to this point...we will see where they are really at the next couple weeks.
Come on, yardage in a game where the team was up 28-2 in the first quarter, and puts up 51 points, is about the worst measuring barometer you could conjure up.

The Bears were lucky the past two weeks to survive the Detroit and Carolina games given how their offence played. The Texans should be a decent test for them next go round as the offence will probably have to do something for them to beat the Texans.

Still 4 turnovers forced by Tillman today, that guy would get my vote for DPOY if it was for the first half. JJ Watt is a close second, but Tillman himself creates more turn overs than a lot of teams have combined.

I'd think the Eagles would be after him as well if Reid gets canned.
