Sad Sherritt likely won't get his record. He had an amazing season. More talk should have been about him and not Cornish. In part product of a bad O, but he was outstanding.
|
More talk about Sherritt?
Its all TSN does is talk about him, whether he plays well or not they talk about him like he is great.
Hopefully this record doesn't get him the defensive award or overshadow the fact he has been very meh in many games this year.

Harris has been just as impressive as a Canadian and Lulay will likely be the west MOP candidate.
Cornish could very well be the best RB in the league but he was too inconsistent for the season as a whole to be considered the best player in the league, IMO

hahaha!!! It's only fitting that Kavis Reed called a timeout before Rene Paredes kicked the field goal wide. Reed must be kicking himself because he just gave Paredes another chance amd Stamps another win.
As for JC Sherritt, yes he broke the record in number of tackles on Calgary first down. Congrats to him but I think the reason why he's got that so many tackles was Eskimos defense was always on the field with their freaking offense being awful all season.

you just said Sheritt has had a more impressive season than Cornish, that is absolutely ridiculous. Hey has been so impressive his team is in last place. Connish has been top canadian how many times

I agree!! When Calvin Tiggle got that record, I believe Toronto's offense was awful also and their defense spent more time on the field. Anyways, i am not a 100% on that one though.

And you said he's the best player in the league, that's not true either. Both had great seasons. I coach defense, I appreciate defensive accomplishments more than offensive ones.
I also said multiple times that Sherritt's record is also a product of a brutal offense.

How was that not guaranteed that parades was going to kick it through the 2nd time? Kavis reed is an idiot. He is almost as bad as Klowe.

what an accomplishment allowing the first down that contributes to losing a game.

So much win tonight:
-4 Stamp wins this season vs Edm.
-Shaw with his 3rd miss this season with a chance to win.
-Nichols taking a page out of the Riders playbook with the "chuck and pray" approach to offense. Nichols hit on a few, and didn't get the PI calls that the Riders get, but that approach isn't getting the team anywhere.
-Reed icing Parades who misses then makes the next. TSN didn't have the guts to show him after that bogus call.
-Sherritt jumping up and down with all his teammates as Glenn gets three straight first downs and moves the Stamps into winning FG zone. Compare this to Cornish who takes a couple handshakes and goes off the field after his record.
-Vanilla Ice did the half time show in Commonwealth....no excitement from the Esks fans because his hits have yet to be released up there. Truly pathetic all around.
The bad: Tate's July-Jon-Cornish type demostrative complaining about his receivers was weak. Honestly, Glenn outside of the drop, played a lot more consistent in his half of football. Not worried about the defense to be honest...the long bomb was Nichols only weapon.
Rod Black has his knee pads on for JC tonight, a TSN mandate all season TBQH. Add that to him reminding everyone every other 2 plays about the playoff implications and that this isn't a nothing game and that the Stamps have to be concerned. Tonight he was especially hard to listen to to, trying to create drama where there was none, so the mute button was off an on.
Bring on the Riders. Now the games matter.
