What's interesting is now it's users who post often but with only one IP address that they've ever posted from which are the suspicious ones, they're making an effort to ensure only one IP address ever shows up.

I think the mods might do well by publishing returning poster's previous usernames in their new profile much like the old-school blue squares.

I think what would be awesome is if users weren't banned, but rather their posts were just invisible to everybody else. It would be as if they were a dead person in "The Sixth Sense". The upside is that if they don't know that they're been banned, then they wouldn't bother trying to sign up under a new name again.

My understanding was that some posters anticipate getting banned, and therefore try to stick to ensuring they make their posts from a single IP to ensure that they don't blemish other IP addresses that they could potentially post from, eg) work, home, cell, etc.
