When I happen to drive past roadhouse around 11 on a weekend and see all the 18 year old girls lined up outside they look like children playing dress up to me. I think that started around the time I was 23.
One night would almost be worse than a relationship. Most of the 18 year old girls that I've encountered are so naiive and irresponsible that it would feel like rape to me.
Obviously an age gap does matter less and less as you get older though.

I used to not care much about age. Then when I went on a date, and the topic of video games came up, and I found out she used to collect Pokemon cards, it makes you realize you are dating a child.
Half your age +7 is a good rule of thumb.

interesting topic. Honestly, age shouldn't really matter..provided above 18 at minimum. It's not completely relative to someone's mental capacity. However, I would rather date a girl who was a few years older with a set of rational brains on their shoulders than someone too young and plays video games.

No, because, presumably, one prioritizes different things in each circumstance. Or at least, I do.

18+ and I'll throw down. I'm only 22 though, yet I look 18 so I could pull the young poon. Don't need to deal with the drama of high school though.
I'm also extremely immature so it is very unlikely I will ever go out with someone older than me.

Being 25 I would probably date anyone 20-25. Anyone younger than that is dumb/naive/insecure/irresponsible. Anyone older would probably have that biological clock ticking and there would be a bit more pressure than I'd like.
Obviously exceptions could be made for a 19 year old knockout supermodel-type or super mature girl or an older woman with no baggage or pressure, but general rule of thumb would say 20-25.
As far as one night stands go my range would be like, 18-45. But I'm in a 2.5-year relationship so that's not relevant at the moment!

18+ and all is well. Althought I gravitate towards women older than myself.

I've dated older and younger. All within 3 years plus and minus.
I'm marrying a girl next summer who is half a year older than me. I find the slightly older woman has her head on her shoulders a little more at this age (28) than some a few years younger (24 for example). Although that might just have been the type I was dating who knows!

I'm 40. I'd feel like a sleezeball if I had sex with any woman under about 25. For a long-term relationship I would like to say that age doesn't matter but I would be looking above 30 for sure.

I'm 46 and married a long time. I'd feel like a boss champion if I had sex with any woman under about 25.

Can't agree more. I'm the same age and 18 year old girls are idiots. I'm talking more idiotic than when I was 18.

Pretty wide range of answers in the thread! I fooled around with an 18 year old after the thread was made... Unsure if I'll do so again.

I'll date 24-27 (which means my gf has 2 more years until she gets the boot, haha). Any younger and they're complete morons. Any older and they become bitter, biologically-ticking timebombs.
I'm 29 and even as I get older I'll (attempt to) always date in that preferred age range. Don't really care what family / friends say about that either.

You guys are looking at the wrong set of numbers. You should be more concerned about the number on her (or her parent's) bank account!

What good is a bank account number going to do?
