Based on this thread, they better fire every play by play, color commentator, and general sports reporter everywhere
I wonder if there is a single individual in the sports commentary world that is universally loved?

I am kind of liking hearing Peter Maher in the afternoons. Hate that it is because there is no NHL for him to be working on, but I like listening to Pete.

Oh man...yeah...his heart is in the right place but does that show sound like one of the old "paid message" things.

Haha this. Jungle Jim has exactly zero gold medals, yet he sermonizes about winning and success while knowing nothing about it. He strikes me as that weird guy that hangs around little league diamonds attempting to "motivate" kids even though none of the kids there are his.

It is a paid message isn't it?
At least I was under the impression that he paid to be on the fan.

I don't think so.....that's why I always found it funny that is sounded so much like a paid broadcast.
But honestly I don't have a clue.

Chris Cuthbert? I think he's easily the best in the business and I've never really heard anyone hating on him.

Well considering this thread is all about how the local guy in the afternoon is terrible I'd say it would be hard to find one.
Do you really want an entire day of local sports talk when there's one major pro sports franchise in the city?

As per Bryn's Facebook, he's submitted his resignation to the station. More details to come.

Good for him. I'm sure he'll be great at whatever he has chosen to do.
I hope someone with some sense would pick up the phone and call Mr. Loubardias now.

Wasn't a fan of him and won't say negative things on his way out. Best of luck elsewhere.

Tough day for me...after much thought and 24 years on-air...I made the decision today to step down from SN960-The FAN. Timing is right.
My last on-air day will be Friday, December 14th and its been a total blast. Thanks to everyone for your support and friendship.
New challenge ahead...also big thanks to Pat, Peter Maher and Mike Rogers for their professionalism and friendship. New challenge ahead.
To clarify... My decision... Just time... Been a great ride... Just need a new challenge. Love the radio business though.

Whether you liked him or not, what a crappy way to spend your last few months on the job, talking about the same lockout filler over and over again.
