Play the random shaw CSR game... keep calling back and asking for a better price until you get them down a good $50 to $100.
Of course I've been on a promo package with guaranteed pricing for the last year so maybe Shaw/Telus just decided to stop competing against each other... although somehow I doubt it.

Why do both TSN and sportsnet have two channels in the new Shaw channel numbering? I'm not talking about SN1 or TSN2 either.

How do you guys like the new super ticker? I think it's a neat idea, I throw it on in the morning while watching sports highlights.

Scroll to it in the menu and you can turn it off, in settings your can pick what you want the ticker to show.

I'll have to check it out. I remember seeing a message about it, looked for it and couldn't find anything. Maybe it just hadn't been released yet. I haven't seen anything in the menu.

I just noticed it this morning, and I didn't check both my portals so just the one could have been updated.

How do you activate the ticker? I see it in the options menu and have edited what info I want included in it but not sure how to actually turn it on? I use a Harmony remote now so not sure if it's missing a button I need to turn it on? I'm hoping it's something you can enable/disable easily without having to go into the options menu.

There is an icon in the menu for it, just hit ok on that icon. You only need to go into the settings menu when you want to click and unclick stuff.

I have 219.1 and 218.1 showing on my guide. Would gateway reboot help?

When you guys reboot your gateway, do you unplug all the portals first?

I think the portals are just slaves, and shouldn't require a reboot.

I'm new to Gateway. So if you have one TV, do you need to have a Gateway plus a Portal or is just a Gateway is enough? Thanks.
Also, I heard that the Gateway (Arris) is buggy and sluggish, is it true? Thanks.

You need the gateway and a portal for each tv. I have heard a lot of complaints but my has been pretty solid for the year or so I have had it.

I hope that is clearer...
1 Gateway, multiple portals.

Motorolla box? That isn't Gateway.
Did they change from Arris to Motorolla for Gateway?

When you buy used Shaw equipment, Gateway or Motorola, do you need to check the serial number to make sure no payment is in arrear by the former owner?
