Good advice, though I'm not on twitter, but it also requires knowing what groups to join to get these updates and I just can't claim to be that savvy. That observatory party sounds pretty cool.
I guess stuff like that could just be posted here if anyone has the patience to drop a note every once in a while. I.e. there's an international piano competition going on tomorrow and the next night (finals), though that's only going to be exciting for you if you're as big a nerd as I am. http://www.honens.com/

Yeah I know it's open, but when Zoo Lights starts it's open at night (well, obviously).

I really need to get more in touch with what's going on here as that CJSW party at the Rothney would definitely have been something I'd have checked out. Have always been meaning to go to the RAO but it seems like they're only open during the day with an open house every once in a while? How am I supposed to head out there to check out the telescopes and dark sky viewings?

Amen. I was in Calgary last winter with a friend and we went to check it out. Overpriced, cold, and the highlight of the attraction was a random camel which was taking a dump.

Honestly I bumped it because I'm going out with this girl on Thursday and am at a loss for what to do other than getting dinner...

Depending on where you are in the relationship, an evening of movies/boardgames/going through each other's childhood photos wouldn't be a bad idea in this weather.

Take her to a strip club. It'll be a memorable date for both of you.
I think there might be a thread on CP discussing the best places to go.

Well it's more of a weekend thing but Loose Moose Theatre can be fun and cheap, of course it's hit and miss being local improv actors. Other dates that went well (this time of year)... Cross-country skiing, tobogganing, skating (olympic oval might have public skate time Thursdays), I think some of the haunted houses should be open by now (screamfest etc).

This is a goopd idea. If she is up for it, then you are on the one way train to freak town.
A buddy of mine used to keep a box of toys in his room. Whne he brought a girl home he would pull it out, is she was in for it all win, worst that happened is she left. He says very few women left......

Go get some snow shoes then PM me for how to find a natural hot springs in K-Country that you are sure to have all to your self.
It'll take 2 hours to get to and perhaps 1.5 hours to get back to your car. A slight bush whack through a heavily overgrown trail will be necessary. It will be unpleasant and freezing.
Chicks dig that, right?

Does this occur at the secluded hot springs?

Funny you mention it.
When I first came across them, my only company was that of another man.
Luckily there are two separate, cascading pools. So we were able to keep it a relatively no-homo experience.
