I was expecting more Lori hate and less Carl hate
The kid is awesome. Him dropping off those medical supplies for Hershel completely redeemed him from the past 2 seasons, then Lori had to go into bitch mode and ruin it

I wouldn't call it bitch mode, I'm pretty sure I would be pissed if my kid did that too.
Not telling anyone where you are going is a sure fire way to get accidently killed when you come back.

There seems to be a general disdain for characters in TV shows that respond realistically to adverse scenarios. "Oh, my husband became a meth cook and is responsible for killing some people, what a crazy year, giggle!", or "my son just wandered off into alone in this Wolfenstein-like prison where he could have been killed in so many different ways, isn't he so precocious? I hope he does that again".

In general that's a true statement but with Lori it's different. She basically flat out told Rick that Shane had to go. So when Rick offed him and told Lori... she got all mopey and weird-ed out by it.

That whole scene is completely realistic and believable. Carl's not going to say anything because everyone will stop him...it's easier to be forgiven than to ask permission. And his mom is going to be pissed after the fact.
It looks to me like everyone is becoming more "comfortable" with the zombies and how to live in this new world with them. The drama is going to come from survivors, just like the catch phrase (or whatever you call it) is for this season "Fight the dead. Fear the living."

Who was it that ruined game of thrones for you?
Awesome episode. I just love the prison story lines!
It was really too bad they didn't show the inside of the walk in freezer where they crapped and pissed for 10 months.

lol, GreenLantern pm'd me major spoilers from (I think) the third book. It was just such a passive-aggressive nerdy thing to do.

haha! crazy!
I think the person spying on Carol is a scout from the Governor's group.
Hmmm judging by the previews it looks like the entire next episode might be on michonne and andrea.
Also how can any of you watch the Talking Dead? that host guy is the most annoying guy on television. He makes Rob Kerr look professional.

It's too early for it to be a scout from the Governor's group, we haven't even been introduced to Woodbury or the Governor yet. I can't say anymore than that, if you want to know what I think we can discuss it in the spoiler thread.

I think, being 8.1million months pregnant standing next to a guy who just had his leg amputated with a rusty ol' zombie hatchet, I might be more grateful than upset when someone drops a dufflebag of medical supplies that I likely haven't seen in months, at my feet.
Lori is just the worst! Husband lying in coma in hospital, zombie outbreak, 60 days later, gets pregnant from repeatedly BANGING HIS BEST FRIEND!
Lori really is the worst. The worst.

I love your descriptive terminology.
Wolfenstein-like prison.

Speaking of the hatchet job to Herschel's leg, that looked like a freaking clean, straight cut for getting hacked at two or more times. I don't think it would have been any cleaner if Rick had used a circular saw.

I really think the show has hit it's stride. It might be nothing of merit but Lori saying she was an awful wife and mother, seemed like the show communicating to it's fans. While I'll never understand the hate she gets, clearly a lot of fans resent her. I think these might be the two strongest episodes back to back I can remember for the show. I really think they've found a perfect balance for Rick and his character.

Agree i don't know why anyone would hate the Carl character, he is turning into a little badass. He has a closer relationship with his Dad now. Rick see's him as a young man rather than just a little boy and realizes in order for Carl to make it he has to let him embrace the bravery and ruggedness of this new world survival.
Favorite scene was the lead prisoner getting a stone cold machete from Rick. Realizing that they had to take advantage of the opportunity and that he could not be trusted for the groups safety. I don't know if those other to Convicts will pose a threat later.
Looks like the next episode is really going to have the series going in a whole different direction.

I like Talking Dead and Chris Hardwick. It wouldn't work with someone who isn't a total fan boy for the show. Only thing I'll complain about is they break for commercial every 2 minutes.

Yeah, Talking Dead is pretty good and I like Hardwick. I listen to his Nerdist podcast often and he is a legit fan of the show. It's fun when someone brings it up and he openly talks about how slow the first half of season two is and how it really ramped up once Sophia was found.
I wish AMC would do a Talking Bad with him for the final 8 episodes of Breaking Bad.

Put me in the group that can't stand Hardwick. He's a fanboy, I get it, but his melodramatic ways are pretty annoying. I got used to him last season, but then realized how much I dislike him after the first episode of this season.
BTW, put me in the Rick fan category for now. However, this show would be amazing if they replaced Rick with Cullen Bohanan from Hell on Wheels

Not remotely familiar with this show. Can I hop in at the start of this season to get a taste of it, or start from the beginning?

Don't even think about doing it that way. Remove that from your brain NOW. Go start at the begining!
