Also, they are still selling the iPad 2, but not the 3rd gen.

I just heard it being called 4th Gen iPad straight up. They're really going through to screw everybody up.

So when do we start speculating what will be in the iPad 5 in April 2013?

I know, this is going by what Apple called them on their website when they were launched.

This announcement means a price drop for Canadians, then. Awesome.

3rd Gen iPads are on the refurb store starting at $379 CAD right now.... very tempting.

That naming process was insane when they didn't call the 3rd generation the iPad 3. Even iPad with Retina Display is a little odd. Is iPad Retina not explicit enough?

I want one of the new iMacs wayyyy more than anything else mentioned. I can't believe how thin they've made it. The added bonus of a fusion drive (solid state + spinning) would be quite hard to pass up.

No retina is kinda strange though. It's almost an expectation for their new products to have it, no?

I'm trying to figure out the logic in still selling the iPad 2.
Comparing the iPad 2 to the iPad mini:
Both the same:
processor
screen resolution
WiFi capabilities
iPad 2 advantages:
Larger screen (if you want one)
iPad mini advantages:
Cheaper
Lighter
better front camera
way better back camera
1080p video recording
Bluetooth 4
LTE capable
lightning connector
Siri
That's a lot of tradeoffs, just to get a bigger screen, and pay more money too.

Display is far too big I believe. The amount of displays they don't use due to imperfections on the 9" iPad is quite high... on a 27" it would be huge. Not to mention the processor drain on pushing that many pixels probably wouldn't be an efficient trade-off.

The newest ipad still uses a microsim, the iPad mini uses a nanosim.

At that screen size, a retina display would be ridiculously expensive.

Absolutely. Keeping the iMac between $1000-$2000 seems to be a priority.

I don't think there will be one, to be honest. With the 4th gen iPad, they got the hardware in sync with the iPhone 5 - I'm willing to bet the devices will be co-scheduled for hardware refreshes from here on out.

You could get an SSD and a separate HDD before, why is a fusion a bonus?

I totally want two iPad Mini's in a folio style case so I can multitask like a boss.
