The whole landscape of strip clubs has changed and you can blame the 88 winter Olympics for that. Up until that time strip clubs were a ton of fun. You could lay on the stage with a dollar bill in your mouth and the dancer would facilitate the motorboat to remove it. There were duos, there were props, there was customer interaction. there were no loonies.
I had a lot of good times at French Maids up until then. Also consider beers, at least Labatts were $2 after midnight.
Then the Olympics came along and so did all the rules to take the fun out of it. Throwing loonies at them has always been a disgusting practice to me and I've never done it.
I will always cherish the memories I have of French Maids, the Spotlight, the Beacon, The Stampeder, Mistys, etc. etc forever. Screw you modern day rules and regulations.

On a side note, I was in Ottawa a couple of years ago, and I found being asked if I wanted a lapdance every 5 minutes very annoying.

That's kind of like going to a grocery store and being annoyed by all the shelves stocked with food.

They always seem kind of slimy to me. I believe they exploit desperate women, often of low intelligence and station, who rely on their bodies to make money.

Then you went to the wrong one? I mean in the city which has the most clubs per ca pita in north america, there are bound to be a few bad ones.

I went to Casa Diablo when I was there last. highly recommend it. The strippers got a rather cute and innocent looking girl who was sitting beside the stage, to get up on stage, and take her clothes off. And she didn't look out of place.

Casa Diablo is a good one, though you better not mind tattoos and piercings if you're going to any club in Portland. The great thing about that city is that strip clubs are so socially acceptable that it can make a fun night out even if your group is a mix of men and women (or even all women).

Europe is more liberal about prostitution, which actually makes it relatively rare to find North American style strip clubs where you can talk to the girls and get dances. Most European places are either brothels or interaction-free cabarets or sex shows. None of that holds any real appeal to me.

Having said that, there are some lap dance clubs in England, Budapest has a few very good ones, and Prague is one of the top 2 strip club cities in the world (along with Montreal).

Barbarellas.

That's the one I was at every night for about 4 or 5 days.

It's outside of the whatever bar/restaurant district. Went to 1 or 2 there but have no idea what they were called or where they were exactly.

lol i don't know if its still there but there was a place called Deja Vu in Vegas.
and I don't know if the rules are the same. You bring whatever alcohol you want so long as its in a bag. You have to pay for mix a 2L was like $12.
That place was a gong show of debauchery, private showers, all types of theme rooms. Just crazy.
Doorman at the HardRock arranged it for us

Deja Vu serves alcohol now, so you cannot bring your own. Little Darlings is owned by the same people and is still alcohol-free, but they usually look the other way if you bring your own as long as you aren't too obvious about it. They don't have showers or anything like that, but the big draw there is that the lack of alcohol means that it's a nude club (Vegas clubs that serve alcohol can only be topless unless they were grandfathered in), and their lap dances are given horizontally.

I know too much about strip clubs.
