The pass interference spot foul rule is my personal gear grinder, I don't necessarily consider high scores = good games. As a Saints fan since the Dome Patrol days, this is something I've had learn to deal with concerning the modern incarnation of my team.
Regarding someone playing while appealing a suspension, it happens quite frequently, but DropIt's jab on what is clearly not an open and shut case is duly noted.

You could argue that the Saints are two plays away from being 0-6. They're also 2 plays away from being 4-2 as well. Sort of show just how fine the line between winning and losing is. Vincent Jackson was a yard away from a TD, the Bucs fail to get in the end zone. Before the illegal touching play his heel is literally an inch on the chalk preventing the winning TD.
You know it's the AFC when the Dolphins secure their playoff spot, by not playing. The Colts step up and move into a tie for a WC spot with their 3-3 record.

Or a buc. He just can't be the first person to touch it.

Panthers fire GM Marty Hurney today. Natural speculation is that Bill Cowher could be coming in next year with his own hand picked GM. Question will be...does Cowher like Cam Newton enough to take that job.
In other teams who suck news...Chiefs are nervous with their competition of one win teams and have selected Brady Quinn to start the next game. This should ensure they stay at 1 win for the rest of the season.

Just heard this on my way home.
Ugh.
There are 4 guys the Packers can ill afford to lose, and he is probably the biggest after Rodgers....with Matthews right behind him.
This is starting to take on the feel of the SB year where 15 guys attended the festivities while on IR...3 starting LB's, the starting RB, a starting WR, a starting CB...and on and on all down for significant time this year and now the single most important guy on D for 6 weeks. (also Woodson broke his collarbone during that SB win a couple years ago...hopefully not the same one.)
Going to be a struggle to make the post season even as AR is heating up and rounding back into MVP form in the last couple weeks.
Sigh.

I thought Cowher would have been the guy there before Rivera was given the job. He lives about 4 hours away from Charlotte and would be such a natural fit for a team like that....but one never knows if he is content doing his CBS gig and having a bunch of time for family compared to a HC position.

I can't remember where I read it (might've been Peter King), but it said Cowher has no interest in going back to coaching at the moment. Obviously that could change if the right job became available but he's been out of the league for close to 6 years now. The track record for coaches who come back after being away that long isn't great. That and I really wonder how Cowher's coaching philosophy would fit in a more pass-oriented league. He was traditionally a ground and pound style coach.

With Fred Davis out for the season, the Redskins have naturally re-signed Chris Cooley.\

Didn't kordell Stewart take the steelers to the Super Bowl ? Him and cam newton are similar running quarterbacks.

I'm almost positive it was Neil O'Donnell who took that team to their only SB when Kordell Stewart played for them from 1995-2002.

Interesting how the ex-Skins cheerleader and him split up literally the day after he got cut, hmm...

I almost threw up with Cutler writhing on the field. That was a huge hit from Suh and looked like a separated shoulder. Knock his mental toughness, but you cant doubt his physical will.

Man, the Lions offence is a complete shadow of its 2011 self. Can any of their pass catchers hold onto the football? Thing looks like its covered in grease every time their O is out there.

Screw the 49ers and the Seahawks, this 'old man' defense is the best in the league. Absolute game breakers

That's the problem when you have one skilled guy and a bunch of crap around him.
Last year Johnson was able to take advantage of double teams this year he can't beat triple teams since you can leave Burlson and Young wide open and watch them drop the ball. The lack of a CFL calibre running back let alone NFL guy hurts as well.
But good to see we drafted Fairly two years ago to be a back-up on the d-line. That sure helped fill a need on a team with massive holes.

Unnecessary Roughness that isn't against the Lions? Color me surprised. Just assumed it was a defender when I heard the call.

Uh oh, Cutler caught on camera chewing out his Olineman, Reichel. Somewhere this will hit the tabloids calling him a bad teammate and headcase
