New spoiler thread is up for everyone wanting to discuss the comics, I think from this point forward we can all agree no spoiler tags relating to the comics in this thread.
I threw a preview spoiler in tags because I wasn`t sure if some people like to avoid that or not..
Anyway, the new thread has nice big bold letters SPOILER, so you won`t accidently click it instead of this one.
Carry on.

I can't even go in the comic thread because I only read the graphic novels. Which are about a year behind the single issues...

Something I really noticed last night was how good the 5.1 sound is for this show. I kept looking behind me through the whole episode. It really added to the dark hallway scenes.

Got a good laugh when the prisoners went all "prison riot" on the zombies. The look on Rick, T-Dawg and Daryl's faces were priceless.

Carl using a gun - check
Rick making extremely grey moral decisions - double check
Sounds like the new writers are getting less interested with making the characters accessible and relatable, and more concerned with making this show the dark, twisted zombie masterpiece it's supposed to be. Strap yourselves in folks.

Hershel pulling thru with sappy music underneath might suggest it's not as dark as you are hoping for.

Hershel's reaction to getting mouth-to-mouth by Laurie was odd.

I took it like his heart and lungs had stopped, she did CPR, his body convulsed as the system started up again.

I took it as he was dead for a split second and went all Zombie on her for a moment.
Great episode though. Long-hair-bad-guy could have easily been a season long villain. Instead Rick sees that he's being poked and poked back... with a long knife.

that's essentially what he was in the books, they were always at each other for a long time until Rick finally got rid of him (after some more moral ambiguity stuff)
i'm loving the changes they're making though, Rick is far more hardcore now and i enjoy watching him in the series way more than the book

as someone who complains about the lack of realism, I found that scene refreshing.
At that point, Rick essentially had no other choice. It was him or them. When you're living on the run from millions of zombies, you can't just have a 'wild card' in the bunch.
Throw a zombie on me? Eat my blade.

what, we can't even mention the work comic or book now? i included zero spoilers and talked about past events. i understand the "no more comic speculation" posts, but one of my favorite things about watching this show is seeing where they differ from the source material. hell that's the reason i started reading The Walking Dead comics, because of the discussion about them in this thread. same with Game of Thrones, i wouldn't have picked up that series had i not gotten into the thread here. pretending the source material doesn't exist seems kinda silly

Don't #### about man - MMF will kick you in the nuts. I took his size 12 square in the bollocks in that Game of Thrones thread.

Time to throw in random facts that may or may not have been in the comics, like when the Transformers come and destroy the zombies with the Matrix of Leadership and Rick becomes Rodimus Prime.
