Probably because he was sick of your one liners and your constant bullying which you are excellent at.

there's a line between confidence and getting tired of someone ridiculing you.

Hi, I'm Troy McClure. You might remember me from such self-help videos as "Smoke yourself thin" and "Get Confident, Stupid."

Are people really being bullied by the guy who once flew to Toronto just to see an Usher concert?

Careful, you might force me to start lurking here only with your bullying.

I thanked his post because of the words insightful self reflection. The idiots at the top don't do this or evaluate themselves and their own actions first, even though they got there because of confidence / basic level of intelligence.

You can get places with confidence, but you can't really stay there with confidence alone. Women, for instance. The guys who can't a girl are just not confident. Cliche, yes, but what that really means is that they don't trust what they really have. Women, and anyone for that matter, can see that. You've got to know who you are, and be good with that. It doesn't mean you can't figure out new ways of doing things.

At my old job, I had a director who had clearly gotten where he was by being confidently dishonest. The problem for him being that he was exposed rather quickly by people who actually knew what they were doing. He's been bumped down to the non-profit world since.

There's bullcrap, bragging, mouthy confidence.
And then there's quiet confidence.

Most people tend to prefer and like the latter but then its truly amazing how many people fit into the former.

I can relate to this. I am too shy for my own good and lack confidence. I have no idea how to fake it in job interviews, which seems to be my biggest set back at the moment.

I'm not an overtly confident guy overall to begin with, but man do I wish I had even 25% of the confidence in high school that I do now. Sure would've made things a lot more interesting. I was such a wuss...too scared to try anything or talk to the right people for fear of failure.

It's not even about confidence....it's more about understanding that it all doesn't matter anyway. While you're too busy worrying about how you look, everyone else is worrying about themselves to notice.

That's right. It probably holds a lot of people back, who are gifted enough to succeed, if was not for their over timidity. I think it's great to be confident, and somewhat thick skinned, especially on the internet, but not so much so that you lose the sensitivity to other people's feelings.

I think most women know instinctively what it takes to be a good husband, provider, father to their children, lover etc. I think they are looking for a man who has the confidence, and at the same time that certain degree of sensitivity and caring. A great sense of humour and strong sense of values also helps...along, of course, with that natural attraction.

I never really had any confidence until I got a roommate who let me eat all his food and bang his sister.
