They were falling all over themselves blowing the Yankees in the first game so I don't consider the love they're giving the Tigers over the top.

Didn't see the first game so can't comment on that but it isn't so much the love for the Tigers that is odd it is the love for Garcia and Cabrera, as if the other Tigers don't matter, is odd.

Plus the fact they are shocked by any pitch thrown to Cabrera. Again good season must have missed when he became Babe Ruth x 10.

St. Louis was 31-17 in the regular season when it faced a lefthanded starter.

Marco Scutaro likely to play in Game 3

That was the unfortunate thing about Strasburg being out, is the nats started lefties in 3 games. With Strasburg we would have had righties start 4 games. But, we were 2 and 1 in the games started by lefties (and one pitch from being 3 and 0) and 0-2 in games started by righties. Go figure!

Carpenter (Beltran's replacement) hits 2-run HR. 2-1 for STL after 3 innings. Lohse has thrown a lot of pitches (81 through 4 innings).

Cain pitching well, but losing 2-1. Lohse is out of the game. SF has had 9 hits and 5 walks, and are unlucky to be behind at this point (top of 7th).

Waiting for Sandoval and Posey to produce in this series.

Cain in trouble now - perhaps Bochy left him in too long. Bases loaded, one out.

Rain delay . . . 3-1 for STL

This is my first year living out east as opposed to Alberta, the Eastern Time Zone sure makes sports more interesting. There will be baseball on till 1 AM tonight as long as the rain clears.

Lincecum needs a great performance tonight, otherwise the Giant's season is practically over, and Tim's future in SF may be in doubt too.

Yankees getting embarrassed in Detroit. CC has just given up consecutive homers, and now a double to Dirks. CC is out of the game now.

Yankees still don't have a hit this game either.

The consensus among the commentators seem to be that by sitting Rodriguez he will want out of New York. Who would pick up his contract at his age? Miami?

Scherzer has been great and the Tigers rough up Sabathia two years in a row.

Somebody on the radio today said something about Rodriguez for Heath Bell. Not sure if that has any truth to it.
