"Android" hasn't had panorama for years. Google added panorama to Android in Ice Cream Sandwich, which was released on Oct 19 2011. That's not even one full year.
Also of note, Ice Cream Sandwich has only been adopted on 23.7% of Android devices and Jelly Bean on an additional 1.8%. By comparison, the iOS 6 adoption rate is 30% of iOS devices after only the first month of availability.
So 118,500,000 Android devices have panorama, and 120,000,000 iOS devices have panorama.
Unless you're talking about 3rd party apps, in which case both iOS and Android have had panorama for years, making your argument even more ridiculous.
(Cue the "whatever, who even cares about panorama anyway" posts.)

Is there any major advantages to my GF and I having the same phone? I.E. two iPhones or two Androids?
She is dead set on the iPhone and I want a Galaxy S3..

If you have a pair of iPhones you can facetime easily... S3 you can NFC transfers. Mind you with could always just use skype or tango cross platform.
Just get separate phones so one of you doesn't regret it later if she's dead set on the iPhone.

OEMs have had the panorama feature baked into their firmwares as far back as Eclair. The point is that Apple is the one touting an old feature.

Here's one of my favourite things about Android - automatic updates of apps. I always thought it was unreal Apple didn't have this, but I've become really used to it since buying my S3 last month. Last night I picked up my iPhone 4, which I use as the world's most expensive remote control for my Apple TV, and had to update all my apps by typing in my password and then waiting around for them to update like some kind of idiot. Just do it automatically, Apple! It's not like I've ever said no to a single app update in four years. Plus I have two iPads...every time I pick up one of my iDevices I have that annoying little job the OCD guy in me can't help but do before I can start doing what it is that I actually picked up the device to do.

Automatic updates of anything is bad. What happens when a dev pushes a feature you don't want, or introduces a new bug that breaks needed functionality?
Always disable auto updates, and always vett things yourself. If there is one thing that Microsoft has taught us about software, it's that.

You can turn it off. I have it set to notify me when there's a new version of an app. Regardless, there's the option to reverse updates.

Universal search injunction (later stayed pending appeal) against Galaxy Nexus has been lifted completely by an appeal court. Earlier Apple had been granted an injunction for the '604 universal search bar patent by a district court. Appeals court found the decision to be in error stating the district court "abused it's discretion", Apple must prove that consumers are buying the Galaxy Nexus specifically for the '604 patent before an injunction can be issued AND it directly impacts sales of the iPhone.
Hopefully decisions and the precedent it sets we can start seeing an end to these lawsuits and more great products being created.

Sorry, I don't have that kind of time. When I pick up my iPad I'm not vetting 26 apps that need updating. I don't care if Cookie Dozer and Monkey Math download a bug, to be honest. If there was a mission critical app I could set it for manual update (I wouldn't bother), but since I've never once said no to an app update it really is a waste of time and a little daily job Apple gives me to do that I don't want.

So from a consumer standpoint what I am understanding is that between the S3 and the iPhone 5 they are both really good phone that will make the user happy regardless of which one they purchase.
In other words this seems like the most nit-picking thread of all time, who came out with a panorama feature for a camera on a phone irst - who really uses the feature, let alone cares? Not many people are going to be hanging pictures taken with their phones on their wall regardless.

Great, then you're more than welcome to click on the little button that says "Update All." For the rest of us, however, not having forced automatic updates is common sense.
Auto update is just one more annoying thing about Android that I have to disable. It's ridiculous that Google puts that must trust into an un-curated app store, where anyone and their dog can publish any update they want to and have it automatically downloaded onto people's devices.

This thread is called iPhone vs Android. It was created by a fandroid as a place for people to argue about trivialities. This is not a thread for finding out about useful tips on how to use your phone, or which apps to put on it - or even which phone you should buy.
For the most part, I've stayed out of this thread because I think it's as much BS as the next guy does. But every once in a while, when you get someone yammering on for three pages about how one OS has had something for years, when in fact it's only had it for 11 months... Well... I may have come a long way from where I used to be with this nonsense, but there are some things that I'm still not able to ignore. False claims happens to be one of them.
Regardless of that, all you have to do is read the first post in the thread to know that this is exactly what this thread was created for.

Had an idea!

Isn't the auto-update off by default?
It is on my phone. I just choose to have it on. Which has never created a problem for me.

Course you and your apple love is one of the main reasons why we have this thread and why there are "fandroids" on here. Your outrageous defense of anything apple the past 5 years has been hilarious. Course you have to be commended for realizing you were going over the top and stopped that apple dbag mentality. Great job!
Course that auto updating hate is kinda over the top again... haha

Holy. A lot of deep seated hate in this. If the devs screwup with an update, I doubt that would matter too much with how Google is involved.
For most people, updating apps is hardly something they're aware of. For those who are, turning off the auto update function is a lot simpler than needing to input one's password every time they want to update apps.

Plus, doesn't auto update come disabled by default? I have to enable auto-update on each app I want in the first place.

But don't you see how with Android's approach they're making two types of people happy (me, because I can automatically update my apps, and you, because you have a bunch of free time to nitpick app improvements)? With Apple, only the people that like doing extra steps for no reason are happy, but people like me who have better things to do are left annoyed.
