M.Hossa, J.Carlson, M.Savard and N.Gerbe to Chicago

In return for

T.Zajac, R.Bourque, L.Eller, L.Omark and a 2014 3rd rnd pick.


It was tough to see Carlson go as he has been my most consistant players but with Duncan Keith coming in and Cammallari departing, insurting the new comers should produce more offence.

As stated before, as the new GM I was looking to change the atmosphere and we were looking to bring some offense to the squad. Although its tough to let go of the young talent in Eller and Omark, we felt more of a veteran presence was required and we feel we have addressed that with this trade.

Nice trade...I'd give the edge to Chicago, but I see the benefits for both teams.

Yea, it hurt to lose Carlson but with Duncan Keith coming in, my D still remains solid.

But ive managed to take my old folks home of a roster and inject some youth while remaining competitive.

Good deal for both teams imo.
