I read on Google+ (think) that there are issues with the iphone 5 keyboard when entering Certain sites, anyone experience any issues? I believe it was a horizontal line/glitch through the middle of the keyboard.

The click of that charger is one of my favourite things about MacBooks. Not sure why but it really is just very simple and satisfying.

It probably drives PC users crazy, but my favourite things about my macbook are all things like this. The charger, the glass trackpad and gestures, and the screen.. Small reasons I dislike using Windows laptops.

Saw it first hand today on a co-workers device. It's related to the keyboard in certain apps - not sure what root cause is (I haven't researched it yet), but I'm guessing it will be a graphical glitch related to apps that aren't yet updated for the new screen res.

Nah, lol.
I like the click, it's nice but let's not get crazy here.

i bought a mac (imac) a few years back after being convinced of all the cool little things like this by my fanboy buddy. I also use my IBM thinkpad laptop a lot (work laptop which i end up using a lot).
Not saying the mac isn't crisp, but it's not mind blowing to the point where i hate my pc laptop. The key thing about the mac, and why i pushed it on my folks and my wife's folks, is to avoid the annual virus breakdown of computers, as well as the quick halflife of the PC.
But if you go out and buy one of the many cheap pc laptop options available now every few years, you could still be better off.
I just think the delta in usability is often times exagerated.

I have a PC and never have virus problems.
If you know where you stuff comes from and keep up with the latest updates, its not that hard to keep your computer clean and running smooth.

It's true as long as you are smart about pc usage you will never get a virus. I haven't had one in a very very long time.

But that disparity suggests that momentum will continue to swing in favor of the browser, with Android tablets rapidly gaining market share. A year ago, the iPad accounted for 81% of tablets in circulation. That has fallen to 52%, with Android-based tablets grabbing a 48% share of the market. Amazon’s Kindle Fire accounts for far and away the largest slice of those: half of the Android tablets in use are Kindle Fires, and they represent 21% of the overall tablet market.

Interesting analysis here http://techpinions.com/battle-of-the...-nexus-7/10672
Quote:
The Google Nexus 7 does not represent a coherent business strategy. It represents the abandonment of strategy. While others are singing the praises of the Google Nexus 7, I am singing a dirge.
I predict that we’ll continue to hear a lot about Android tablet activations but we’ll continue to hear little about content and advertising profits, which is all that matters in a subsidized business model.
|
The basic premise is that Google is targeting value buyers by selling pretty much at cost, planning to make it up on content and advertising sales. But bargain buyers are less likely to buy the content or leverage the advertising so there's not as much money to be made.

Amazon is doing the same thing with the Kindle. Obviously it is working for them.

ALL ABOARD!

Amazon has content though. They're selling more eBooks than real books now.
Google doesn't have the same amount of content sales right now to subsidize their tablets indefinitely.

Fortunately its not a huge subsidy... they actually make about $15 on the 8GB model of the Nexus 7, more on the 16GB and that is the bulk of where their tablet sales come from.
They aren't losing money on the tablet sales... just the margins are razor thin.

it also makes it tough on other Android tablet vendors who don't have any content to make up for low margins. Sounds a lot like the PC business, although obviously way more growth potential.
