You guys got to understand this is a show about a serial killer. Of course there is going to be plot holes about almost all his kills and parts of the story.

If they were to have everything set in reality the show would have ended after season 2.

As for the premiere episode, it was really good. Excited for the rest of the season and there seems to be a ton of plot lines:
- Ukranian Mob
- Blood Slide/Doakes/Leguerta
- Deb knowing the truth
- Yvonne Strahovski's character still
- Weird as fata internet who seems to be sabotaging Dexter

I highly doubt that the creepy intern guy could have hacked into Dexter's computer and found his credit card numbers in the amount of time he had. A guy as paranoid as Dexter is going to use a strong password on his computer.

Without spoiling anything for anyone that has PVR but hasn't watched it yet, outstanding season opener. So many developing story plots this is going to be a roller coaster of a season.

This isn't that kind of thread. If it has aired, feel free to discuss.

The only thing I would ever spoiler tag is stuff that hasn't aired (even if it is something picked up in a trailer) and any theories on an ongoing mystery, although even that is more a courtesy than a requirement.

and to elaborate ... im sure its as easy as 2 clicks to cancel a credit card account, lol.

i hate those leaps but have gotten used to it in this series. im still engaged in the show but my wife hates watching with me because i cant still and not comment on the obvious "give me a break" moments.

how about this one:

a building is burned down, surely the fire department would investigate, no? they would identify that gas was used and would probably check the camera from the closest gas station and see Deb filling up the canister.

too easy. i also loved Dexter nodding to Deb when he removed the plastic from the toe. lol, come on, no one else at the crime scene saw that?oh and the body is burned and charred but the plastic didnt melt? GMAB!

I'm kinda on the fence about the leaps in logic in Dexter. Sometimes I just chalk it up to being a necessary part of watching a show that clearly could not take place in the "real" world.

However, as others have mentioned, sometimes it just seems like sloppy writing. I definitely rolled my eyes a bit at the whole airport scene. I've also found that Dexter himself has been making some leaps in logic recently. He used to get all bent out of shape about possibly killing the wrong person and how he had to make absolutely sure that the person he's killing is guilty but it seems more and more that the evidence he's using is flimsy at best.

The thing that makes me overlook those minor, and sometimes glarring, leaps in logic is the fact that the show is usually so entralling that I just don't care.

the only thing that kind of annoyed me when I thought about it (besides the kill)

Was the initial thing that showed him looking like he was running away, which turned out to be him going after the killer, why were his credit cards declined

Seriously people, it's television. If you want them to get rid of the "give me a break" moments the show would be 7 minutes every episode with Dexter just chilling in jail.

I think in seasons one to three he was quite careful and the show was reasonably plausable that he could get away without leaving evidence. It was in 4 that he got sloppy chasing after trinity and in 5 and 6 he should have been caught regularly. I think the writing has just gotten lazier. For example in season 1 dexter anganizes that the little kid might ave scene him kill but in this episode he kills someone in an airport filled with camera in a room that at a minimum would have had a camera in the hallway or room to stop employees from stealing lost luggage.

Or it shows tat dexter like all serial killers become more and more impulsive as time goes on

I was thinking that Dexter used to be a lot more careful in the past as well, following people for days and now it's like, "oh, he has blood on his shirt, and gunshot residue, I'd better kill him"
Careful out there, a nosebleed and an afternoon and the Shooters Edge could get you killed!

This episode was better than the last two useless seasons combined.

I think I agree with this, although I wasn't even particularly fond of this episode. I used to love Dexter, but it isn't doing it for me as much as it used to.

I bet you that 'creepy intern guy' is actually Dexter's long lost younger brother.

Impossible. But he could be Rudy's long lost son.
