Sweet 16!
Shockers 80 Tennessee 73
Going to the Sweet 16 baby!
Could Montana be next? They lead BC 25-22 late in the first half!
Wichita State will play the winner of North Carolina and George Mason.

Very impressive game today.
Hopefully within a few hours the Zags will be a part of the Sweet 16 as well.

Huge game for the Zags today. Not a one man team thats for sure. Mallon had his best game ever at Gonzaga today. Nice to finally be back in the sweet 16. Gonzaga has what it takes to be a national champion

Wow. George Mason beats North Carolina. Unreal.
This might sound crazy, but as a Wichita St. fan I'm not sure that's the matchup I was hoping for. As I mentioned in the other thread, GMU beat Wichita State on a last second 3 pointer in Wichita earlier in the season.
On the other hand, should I feel better about playing a team that likely has more flaws than UNC?
This has been some tournament.
Even the 1-16 games have been close.

Morrison had the flu pretty bad on Saturday night, he's much better now and ready to go accoring to Spokane news. The Zags are really playing the undercard role up now, and rightfully so. They do great in it and have nothing to lose. The little school that could. Should be a great game tommorow, I think once again we're gonna see why Adam is the best player in college right now. Some other games tommorow that could go down to the wire and make for one hell of a day

Farmar is supposedly not 100% for UCLA either. That can't hurt.

So UCLA's defense is just wow. Giving up 58.7 points on average this year. Still sounds like Batista could really be a force inside and outmach UCLA's inside game. A trip to the elite 8 would be amazing, this school has grown so much in the last 7 years.
So how about those Bradley Braves? I'd love to see them win tonight, and then tommorow the Witchita State boys have a very good chance at moving to the elite 8 however George Mason is no easy task. UCONN still seems to be most peoples pick to win it all

Bradley is a tough matchup for anyone. They have an ever-improving Patrick O'Bryant who may already be the best 7 footer in the country and a legitimate NBA talent in Marcellus Sommerville who can be a force from the outside as well as being able to penetrate.
Love their coach, Jim Les too.
Wichita State swept the season series this year, but in the tournament Bradley beat them. They're a team that's been improving all year.
I believe Bradley is capable of moving on if they can keep O'Bryant out of foul trouble.

Wow. I really picked well this year.
Final Four: Duke, Kansas, NC, Villa
Sorry Villa, you're likely toast.

That was just as if not worse then Game 7 against Tampa. I'm lost for words. WHy in the world Batista did not pass that to Ravio who was wide open and is one of the nations best at the line is beyond me. Seeing Morrison who just gives it his all at the end of the game was just brutal.
I'm going to drink all of Alberta tonight

I hope Morrison comes back.
Sorry for your loss '87, and I was certainly pulling for them as well.
Did you happen to catch the end of the Texas/West Virginia game? Holy Wow! Some finish there too.
Care to join me in cheering on the Shockers tomorrow night? It might help you cope a little!

Matters how big of a fan you are man, trust me. I'm as big a Flames fan as I am a Zags fan. Losing a game like that hurts almost as much.

Amazing Texas/WestVirginia finsh, at least WV can feel the heartbreak as wel.. I will be pulling for the Shockers now however no way I can bare to even watch the rest of the tournament.
But hey, life goes on sun comes up tommorow. Sports make life fun but they don't make life. The Zags had a great year made the sweet 16 something not many people thought they couldnt do and watching Morrison this year was just a treat. Whatever he choses I'll be happy with.
Not to have sour grapes, but how god awful we're those CBS guys? Millen and Healy are gods in comparison

I don't wanna sound like the excuse maker here, but there's a reason these guys don't get paid millions of dollars a year. "student athletes" I do my best not to hold them under the same light of proffesional teams

Well after a morning after that one still stings. The Zags boards are filled with more troll's then you could count so I'm gonna do my venting here if you guys don't mind haha
Although It may not have won the Zags the game by any means, the refs did sure blow ass at the end the Zags should've had at least 4.5 seconds on the clock when they fouled UCLA. ESPN even talked about it last night, how the refs missed it which boggles my mind how somehow they didn't even check to see.
Gonzaga played a heck of a game last night. They had UCLA one of the best teams in the country at there mercy, a team that haden't allowed over 60 points in 9 strait games. As for the Batista turnover, it was drawn up great by Few, the Zags actually wasted a good chunk of time down and Ravio 92%FT shooter was wide open JP just couldn't get him the ball. Those whole last few seconds are just still a blur in my mind as I could not beleive that happened. UCLA players helping Morrison up after was just really classy, man is he ever a gamer. If he does go pro and I think he will, I can't wait to watch him in the pros. Maybe not the most exciting player to watch but his work ethic alone is worth the price of admission. I hope to god somehow the Raptors end up with him! Take away the ending from last night and it wasen't that bad of a season. Climbed that hurdle of not being able to make it to the sweet 16, and Morrison has now clinched the scoring title. March Madness sure has it's ups and downs eh?

I only think you cannot compare them as this is the Sweet 16 not the Championship game or the Stanley Cup Final. The Zags had a few more teams to beat to go all the way while the Flames only had one team to beat to win it all. I'd compare it more to the Stamps Western Semi game where they had the lead at the half and the only way they could lose is if they lost it themselves. UCLA and the Eskimos didn't win the games rather the Zags and Stamps lost them with some huge mental errors. Both were tough to take.
I am a big Zag fans and I was at the Zags game against Stanford back in February. The McCarthy Center is like the Dome during the playoffs. Loud and intense.
The team is more talented than they have been showing and are an elite team. With Morrison, Batista and Knight gone, the Zags have some holes to fill but I like their young talent such as Heytvelt and Pargo plus they'll have Ravio and Mallon to fill the Senior roles.

Agreed, it was their game to lose and they found a way to blow it. Being up by 9 points with 3 minutes left all Gonzago needed was to make one of the missed shots by Morrison, Batista or Ravio and the game is over. Instead UCLA goes on a 11-0 run. They blew it big time and it'll be replayed for years.
