I never understood the why a gay person would choose a partner that is a dead ringer for the opposite sex. She's obviously attracted to a manly appearance so she's already half way to being straight and I would think some dude just may have a shot if he pretends to have a feminine side. I agree. It's always confused me. Nothing against gay people, as everyone on the board knows I'm about as pro gay as anyone here and have fought in the threads and in real life, but that is still one thing I just don't get. I will have to ask my friend. Maybe MRCboicgy can weigh in.

This is probably where I'd get in trouble by answering, but might as well, as I have a few drinks in me already and am watching Craig Ferguson (woo having Friday off!)
There are always a segment of gay guys and lesbians that are only attracted to girly guys/butch chicks. I know it's an easy stereotype to make, because it easily answers the "who's the man?" question, but it's not as widely spread as you think. The thing is, for those people, it's such a narrow subsegment to be attracted to.
Why? I really don't know. I asked a friend once why she only dates girls that look like Justin Bieber (ha!), and she told me that girls that look like girls are repulsive to her. I've dated queeny guys and extra-butch guys, and to me and most of my friends, we'd rather be with men who are men.
