I played Torchlight 2 for about 4 hours. I found the pace to be great and the boss battles really interesting. However I wasn't really a fan of the art direction. Also loot drops are plenty, but somehow it just fell less exciting. Ultimately I found my mind drifting back to D3.
Also, as much as some people rag on the AH, I find it really adds to the excitement of drops knowing how easy you can turn it over for a profit. It's like drops have more "purpose". I always thought the AH was the right direction to go for D3. I think D3's biggest downfall is how much impact the AH has on the in-game drop rates.
If they could combine the tone, mechanics and economy of D3, with Torchlight's pace, loot tables and boss battles, that would be a damn impressive game.

Given the way Blizz operates these days, skill trees would be a disaster. In every new patch, Bliz changes fundamental mechanics behind skills (proc rates, damage etc) so you would end up with points invested in skills that are no longer viable.
Problem is, they don't understand their own game, they unknowingly OP certain skills (trail of cinders for example) in one patch only to nerf it again in next patch.
Imagine investing skillpoints in that environment.

Finally found a half decent legendary. I swear that I was killing things so fast, the system was only able to calculate "L-E-G...", ran out of time and gave me leg wraps instead of legendaries...
Although I doubt I will use it, this Andariel's Visage helm put me over the 100K DPS mark for the first time.
Edit, yeah that helm is nice for IAS and crit, but taking added fire damage? LOL. No thanks. Changed it out. Here is the helm if you are interested...

I feel like my luck is finally turning too. I managed to pick up 3 legendaries this week, after getting none since well before 1.04. None of them fantastic, but I may have picked up my first item worth over 1 mil ever!

Is there any point to this game after you beat inferno? I haven't logged in since. Am I missing something?

Blizz farted in the face of all wizards yet again, proc coefficients of storm chaser AND meteor AND spectral blades nerfed hard again:
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/7390...otes-9_27_2012
Not sure how many people here run the CM build, I think Shawnski does? Im over 2 attack speed and 40% crit chance and even that won't enough. FFS what a bunch of clowns over at Blizz.

Ouch, that's a hard nerf for wizards. And yet, the WW barb doesn't seem to be impacted too much. As a monk player the 50% decrease in armor from Seize the Initiative sucks, if they say they decreased monster damage as well, then it's probably ok. I like a bunch of the other changes.

Yeah reducing my survivability probably isn't going to encourage me to play more.

Sprint
Skill Rune – Run Like the Wind
Proc coefficient reduced from 0.2 to 0.08
That's an extremely significant nerf. That's a reduction of Life on Hit and Fury gained by 40%. The reduced Life on Hit should impact survivability pretty significantly for lower level sprint barbs while the loss of Fury generation will likely put a stop to perma-WotB.
I still think that they'll be overpowered but I also believe they've received the hardest nerf.
Anyways, anyone else hear about the 2 hander glitch/exploit? Very simple method of equipping double 2 handers, the first is equiped like normal and the other just has it's other stats applied (strength, crit damage etc.).
I've played around with it using a crappy skorn and goofed around with my skills to break the 1 million dps mark, only for a half second or so, but I can only imagine what the double skorn barbs are reaching up to right now.

oops, forgot about the proc nerf. Just remember seeing some stream where barb had no problems on MP10, but they probably had godly gear on.
I'll have to look into this double 2-hander thing. Sounds fun.

I remember a bug like that existing back in D2 LOD. I remember my firewall sorc was able to equip 2 staves and absolutely trash the bloody foothills.

Yeah, I'm betting we saw the same barbs, the first couple to get the hellfire rings, and they were extremely good geared.
The nerf to WW barb will likely impact the lower tier WW barbs far greater as LoH is reduced so much and their damage isn't high enough to make life steal that viable. The WW barbs that do have a billion gold worth of gear will still likely be extremely overpowered but without Perma-WotB their efficiency has to drop somewhat, even if it's only 90%.
I haven't played on the PTR though, so I guess we'll see.

It's kind of funny, monks are like barb's little sister, they have no offensive skills to speak of and they have their mandatory defensive skills nerfed. Once blizz hits OWE with the nerf bat it's all but over for monkees while barbs remain 2 light years ahead of everyone else.
In other new, I found Inna's temparance with solid rolls on Saturday and Tal Rasha's amulet with high rolls and a socket (no crit chance thought) on Sunday. I haven't seen a single set piece since launch and now two solid pieces in two days (and two not so good strongarms on top of that, one sold for a mil). Both found by a char with relatively low MF.

^ That's frustrating to hear. In my many hours of playing, I am yet to see a green item drop.
