Yeah, the story sucked and parts did not make sense. The PC version was also buggy as hell.

I remember both 7 & 8 took a lot of .ini and .sys file tweaking to get running properly but that wasn't uncommon for DOS games.

Ultima 9 is probably what you're thinking of. It was an absolute beast. It basically would only run if you had a Voodoo3 card installed. Plus it completely sucked.

This is a game I am interested in but have ZERO interest in anything else on the 360 at this point. I can't justify buying what basically amounts to a $600.00 game for me.

The PC version for the first one was really buggy too. I'm not a fan but I got it free when I ordered Doom 3 when it first came out so I decided to not put it to waste and played it. I had to save pretty much every five minutes cause I never knew when it was going to crash.

I felt the same way about the Xbox when Halo came out..but think about the quality of games a few years down the life for the system...Final Fantasy...Fable2 etc ..its gonna be worth it I think

Ghost Recon is simply awesome and Fight Night is very very good on the 360. The catalogue is starting to fill up with some very very good games. Not to mention that while Road to the World Cup was dissappointing in content the gameplay and graphics were superb indicating the next EA Fifa release will be very very good. I'll also throw in Need For Speed Most Wanted which has been a riot and looks great.

What we are seeing now are games that were not developed on the Xbox and improvements made to increase quality to the 360 but games made with the 360 specifically in mind and 'dumbed down" to the Xbox. This is especially the case for Ghost Recon which is getting 9.5/10 all over the place for the 360 but 6/10 on the Xbox.

Fight Night for the 360 is one heck of a fun multiplayer game..maybe the best sports game ive ever played...but your right..NHL 2k6 and Madden are just spiffied versions of the this years Xbox games..but give it a year and we should see some simply awesome sports games

Looks tremendous. XBOX magazine gave it 9.5/10. I already preordered the Xbox 360 Collector's Edition.

Indeed. Especially on the 360 without the HUD. Using the body language to read the opponent is simply a great addition.

Madden looked good but just like Road to the World Cup had no content. They were, however, both good indications that the next installments should be very very good.

Game looks good, but I wasn't a fan of the first Elder scrolls, Morrowind that came out a couple of years ago. Funny, as I'm a RPG nut, and love these open ended games, but for whatever reason, the first person view turned me off, and I just could never really get into the game.

My favorites were probably, easily Baldurs Gate 2.

Other honorable mentions to Planescape torment, Kotor, NWN, Pretty much every Final Fantasy game, and alot of console japanese rpg's, the suikoden's, tales, dragon warrior etc

See, I love my RPG's and adventure games. Zelda, Final Fantasy, Onimusha, Star Ocean, that's my stuff. And the real Final Fantasy's, not the garbage MMO (FF11) that the 360 is getting, bleh. Fable was the most over-hyped, under-delivered RPG I have ever come across in 20 years of serious gaming.

360 is going to be very similar to xbox. FPS (a new WWII themed game every week!!!), sports and realistic racing sims. Those are probably the genres that I dislike the very most in all of games. For my tastes Ghost Recon = bleh, Project gotham = uber bleh.

I dunno, I'm going to wait till after E3 to get more info on PS3 and Revolution before I jump into a $500.00 purchase.

When is E3 anyway? Is it mid-May?

Funnily enough Morrowind was the third Elder Scrolls following Arena and Daggerfall. Morrowind blew them both out of the water. You can play the game in third person too if 1st person doesn't work for you....

Anyone heard anything on when Oblivion is going to be in?

Lots of people in the states are saying that pre-orders can be picked up tomorrow afternoon with regular sales starting first thing on Tuesday. Haven't heard much about Canada though (Calgary in particular).

Just a note to all those interested in buying Oblivion this week: I'd recommend going to EB Games or somewhere similar and putting a couple bucks down to reserve a copy. When I pre-ordered my copy the guy working there said it should definitely sell out first day.

There's also at least one other company that I'm aware of....

Try http://www.firetoads.com/c_jobs.htm

I'll also be heading to E3 this year and I currently reside in Saskatoon.. Working remotely rocks

If enough CPers are going down we should try n arrange some kinda roundup or something - NHL 07 booth perhaps..

Also just for curiosity mind PMing me the name of the company you work for photon?

I'm preordering today. I hope it runs for me.

I ran my system specs for it at http://www.srtest.com/referrer/srtest

Here's my results, I just barely failed the Recommended settings for the video card, I have a 6600GT and recommended is 6800, but I blew minimums out:

Just preordered the CE. At EB Games there was honestly a call every 5 minutes from people asking if it was in yet.
