Yeah because it's unimaginable a quad core processor could be faster than an Apple dual core processor!
the physics just don't add up!
That's not what I was getting at, at all.
I've used (owned) plenty of Android devices, even quad-core ones, and they all run like ass on the stock manufacturer/carrier-infested ROMs. It isn't until they're rooted and rebuilt with an AOSP-based ROM that they truly live up to their specs. (This is the #1 reason why I always recommend the Google devices.)
It's no different than a typical PC laptop. It doesn't matter what the specs are, the manufacturer will always find a way to bog it down with a bunch of pre-installed crap.
I know you guys love this whole fanboy shtick, but not everything is about that.
Thought this might be an appropriate question for this thread.
I deal with many types of devices at work, the biggest problem I have is the apparently lack of autocorrect on Android devices.
Is there no option for this, or is it just because I am using someone elses (typically brand new) device that it just hasn't 'learned' enough to be useful?

As far as I remember the phone learns your words and can finish them for you while texting if you turn that feature on. Same bank is also used if you turn on the swipe function. But that includes incorrect spelling, swear words, "HAHAHAHAHA" etc..

The what?

and apple doesn't pre-install stuff? it's not rally rocket science. a quad core intel in a 'bog-downed' pc will run things a lot faster than a dual core intel in a mac.
The swipe (or swype?) function that lets you literally swipe your finger across the keyboard to write words.
It's awesome until you screw up a word too many times and it constantly starts spelling it wrong or when instead of say "has", the phone starts writing "haha" or instead of "look", you get "lol".

I will have to look for that when someone brings their phone in.

Yeah, Apple doesn't allow Lets Golf 2, Blockbuster, Pandora, Slacker Radio, TuneWiki, Rhapsody, etc, etc, etc to be preinstalled. My current phone came with all of those (unremovable) and more. Its one of the reasons I don't plan to ever buy a non-vanilla Android phone again. That said, I hardly think that the S3 runs "like ass" or anything close to it, even with the garbage Touchwiz on it. But I still wouldn't buy one, because its not a Nexus.
