Default Lock out notice to the STH?

Are the Flames planning to send any sort of communication to the STH regarding the lock out and the status of the payments for their tickets. I have read on twitter that other teams are sending email updates to their STH groups but I have seen nothing yet.

I hope they are going to send something or is this going to be a situation where the Flames know there is a waiting list for tickets a mile long so they aren't really worried about keeping the STH fan base updated with some notices on how they plan to proceed?

All I know right now is I have paid a lot of money for a product and now I'm not getting that product and the person who sold me the product isnt telling me anything.....

You seem very interested in this. I bet it would have taken just as much effort to send the flames and email as it would have taken to post this.

My suggestion would be to email the Flames if you want to know. Maybe DM the flames on twitter?

Why don't you email them and tell us what they say?

Sorry your right I will email the flames. Shame on me for thinking that the fact that I give this organization thousands upon thousands of dollars a year of my hard earned money earned me the right to expect some sort of update in return without me having to go and beg for it. No your right I will send a message to their twitter account and ask.....

Maybe I will also say please and thank you in my message seeing as they have been so polite and done so much for me in last month and a half while this mess has carried on.

Maybe I will even send them flowers with my next thousand dollar ticket payment. But what should I put on the card " dear Calgary flames here is a nice dozen roses to thank you for the amazing amount of nothing that u have given me for this thousand dollar payment to go along with the other 5 I have sent u in the last 6 months. Yours truly sucker #13,500."

Ya that should work......

If the Flames haven't had any contact with STH about the lockout yet then that is pretty bush league.

This organization has been going down the drain since the death of Harley Hotchkiss.

It's like the class of the Flames died when he did.

Expecting service and information WITHOUT having to chase the Flames for said information. Yeah what a sucker!

The lack of information in situations like a lockout is totally unacceptable.

The lockout has been in effect for like 14 hours. Give the mail system another day or so before enlisting in the new fan militia.

Did you want them to notify you that there may some future lockout but they weren't totally sure but we'll let you know?

Was the front page of every news sports section not enough info?

Don't get me wrong, usually I love a good ribbing for any business that fatas up but again, the lockout JUST engaged here...

I would imagine that Monday they will something out. Until it's determined that the season is fact delayed there is no reason to have ticket holders decide what to do with deposits/payments made.

With no talks, they knew on Friday. Give your customers their options as soon as you know them. The mail system is a automated mass mailer it can get the emails out in a hurry if anyone bothered to do so.

I would rather the money in my pocket, if we are without hockey for any length of time.

Don't you already know what they are going to tell you? "we will be applying any credits to future payment periods." or some such comment.

Some teams are doing it differently. I believe some keep your money and apply it when the NHL opens for busniess, while others credit your money back on a game by game basis, as games are cancelled.

Not sure what the Flames are doing, though, and maybe a press release would be a good idea to be clear on what's happening.

"or some such comment"?

Doesn't that right there prove the OP's point? Nobody, including yourself knows the plan, so no you don't know what they're going to tell STH.

" not sure what the flames are doing....". Exactly my point. Usay other teams have made statements. Then why not this team. With one of the largest fan bases in the league they should let us know.

I've been involved with buying things from this team for long enough to know they will not offer a refund on a single game. My guess is they will offer either stop payment until the issue is resolved or continue payment to your account and it will go towards either playoff tickets (bahahahahahaha!!!!!) or next season.

It could if you read my comment like that which is different than I intended. I meant you know what the team is basically going to say or the theme of what they are going to say so no real point getting cranky. We don't know their exact words no, but as of right now their message wont be "we're giving you back all your money on Monday." Either the team will apply any installments paid to future payments or if there are games cancelled return funds. Nailing the team to the cross because they haven't sent anything out on a Sunday seems a little much doesn't it? Or maybe I just don't have it in me to vilify the team as much as others.

Well seeing that the CBA just expired and it's a Sunday, maybe wait until tomorrow until you see something?

I know for a fact it has been business as usual there, up to when it was actually a lockout.

Big whiners

I'm not a STH, so this is none of my business, but I think your comment is ridiculous. The fact that it's a Sunday shouldn't matter one bit. After all, there are Sunday hockey games.
Whether the Flames knew it was going to end up as a lockout, or whether they hoped it wouldn't, they should have had a contingency plan and an email list ready to hit send at 12:01. It's fricken 2012 here. What are they doing, waiting till monday so they can print off 15,000 copies of a letter, and then going to mail it?

Yeah, it's only one day, but it's thousands of dollars to the regular guy who is footing the bill that pays all of their salaries. The STH is not the whiner in this situation.

What I'm telling you is that up to and when the lock out occurred, in the office it was business as usual. Of course managemt has a plan.

My guess is when the staff gets in, they will have a meeting with management, and by the time the office opens you will see communication from the team.

Yes it is 2012, but the Flames front office still has normal business hours.

I would be willing to bet STHs will see something tomorrow.

And as an aside, try and be nice to your account managers and staff. These people's jobs are currently in the air as well. It is not them that started this lock out and people like to freak out at them, over there anger.
