Not even exaggerating, I spent 30 minutes in a 5 on 4 practice mode just passing around the zone. More specifically, passing back and forth on along the blue line. I swear to god, 40% of my passes from left to right are about 20 feet off target and leave the zone. I find it incredibly frustrating that you can have a guy 10 feet away and miss him so easily. Hopefully it's something I just get used to. It looks like frickin' timbits hockey out there.

In the GM mode are the menus extremely laggy, slow and frustrating for anybody else, or is it just me? Takes minutes to just load the next menu screen.

That's not a bad idea. I missed so many passes in my second game, it wasn't even funny. Lost the game because the passes were so off. Today, the LA Kings are going to practice passing the puck!

Yes, it's slow for everyone. Reason being that every single time you change screens in the menu, NHL 13 downloads new data from the server, in an effort to keep everything live and up to date. Kind of stupid in my opinion, but I understand why they did it.

We had the PS3 hooked up to our WiFi, which because I haven't had a chance to look at it, is very slow and has a limited range. Last night I plugged in the PS3 into the ethernet port in the wall, and that sped it up considerably.

Thanks to Igitang for the head-up about how to do strategies (my god is it convoluted though!).

I think for the practicing it would be smarter to do a 5 on 0, get your passing down and then slowly add oppositional defenders. My 5 on 4 was still too hard to get anything moving.

That was my thinking as well. I'll do that after I get home.

I will be gone all of next week for work so I am going to put my team on play the CPU (Red Wings). I know this will probably lead to an 0-5 start but so be it.

The trades can be started, just not approved till tomorrow AFAIK. That's why every time I log in I have 5-6 requests.
