The 30 minutes and free registration is still active if you type in "onward" when you register, it just has to be processed which takes a couple days. Also Car2Go is at a lot of the festivals in Calgary so stop by and most of the time there will be a wheel there you can spin for more free minutes if you're a member.

How long did it take everyone to get their welcome package after they registered online? I've been waiting almost 4 weeks, and I've already contacted them asking whats the status. They said they mailed it on the 2nd, and confirmed the address was correct. They mailing it from outside of Calgary?

I registered at the start of the month using the promo code and just got my card today. Haven't tried it out yet. I live just outside of the downtown and usually bike to work but may try this tomorrow if there's one outside my place.

Btw...I was really skeptical of this at first but I've been won over...I can keep my beater for longer trips or to haul things and drive a smart car to move about.

Ps...I checked and I have a 30 min credit as well!

I must vent on this Car2Go thing. My girlfriend and I have been waiting almost 7+ weeks on our welcome packages. We've contacted them 4 times now, and had them re-mail the packages 3 times. Verified the address each time, and it was correct. They finally asked that we just come in to their office and pick it up ourselves.

However the office downtown doesn’t exist. A friend of ours who has Car2Go and tried using the gas card that’s provided with the car to fill up. But the card was declined for whatever reason. So she had to pay for the gas with her personally credit card, and then later contacted Car2Go which said they would credit her account if she brought in the receipt to their office. When she arrived at the office, all she could find was a sign saying that the office is "Coming soon".

At this point, I've given up on Car2Go. This has been a major pain, and don’t feel that the company is trying enough to satisfy the customers.

I have noticed that people will park the cars in no parking areas, for example on 6th ave during rush hour. When this happens does anyone know if they get towed as a normal car would or are they left alone or maybe just moved somewhere?
I have seen it a few times so I am just curious, one time a car in front of a car2go was getting towed but not the car2go. I don't know if they had to move the front car first or what so I am just curious.

They would get their asses towed and then billed to their credit card.

My wife and I signed up as we are n the home zone.

For us we will use it to drive to weddings / concerts etc and then cab it back home. My wife will likely also use it sometimes coming home from work downtown.

Signed up Friday, got the member cards on Tuesday.

Their office does exsist, I was there two weeks ago. I think it was at 11th Ave and 6th St SW. The elevators and stairwell is electronically timed, so it will shut down right at 5pm.

I've had great experience with them. I left an expensive item in one car and as soon as they found it, they called me to come by and pick it up.

Just saw one being towed yesterday during the afternoon rush.

I got my membership card 2 days after I applied. But then, I am quite important. It's been pretty cool, other than that there are almost NEVER cars in Sunalta in the morning, despite there being cars parked there at night. Do car gremlins come in the evenings and take the cars outside the core?

People in Calgary go to work way too early, and it rears it's ugly head in Car2Go commuting. All the downtown Car2Go vehicles are cleaned out by 4.

I still have never driven a Car2Go, despite having my membership for a long time. In fact, I think I've ever only seen one Car2Go car, and that was close to my house in Martindale, a long ways away from the home zone.

Good thing I only really care about using one to go TO the bar from which I will later stumble on foot home, or to go tootling around with on the weekends.

BTW, if any of you see some dude waving at your Car2go from his, and wonder what is wrong with him and why he thinks he knows you, well, that's me, and I just like to spread camaraderie.

FYI, for anyone thinking about registering using the promo code that has been mentioned on here (ONWARD).... I called car2go and was advised that this code is now expired, so beware if you are wanting to register without the $35 fee.

Anyone know of a more current one?

Haha, I've done my best not to look over at the other Car2Go driver if stopped next to them. But I'll keep an eye out for you

Your friend kinda brought that on herself.

Has she not heard of "Pay at the pump"? That makes it pretty easy to tell right away if the card is going to work or not, before you fill. If it doesn't work, worst case continue driving to your destination. Those things can go over 100km with the gas light on. If you're nice, let Car2go know the card isn't working.

Got into my first car2go earlier tonight going to stamps game. Loved that I could park behind the condos behind university drive and walk right over to McMahon.
