Yep, I know you can save settings. I have played this game for the last 6 years. I know the ins and outs and the majority of the bugs. Luckily they fixed the inability to apply strategies that was plaguing the craptacular NHL12. I play Be a GM pretty much 90% of the time. It is painfully buggy and broken, but I make due.
Anyone notice the abysmal loading times for games. Slowed waaay down from NHL12.

In 12 you could check the progress tracker under the GM list. I am not sure if it is still there for 13 as it was a pretty useless option.
You should be able to select the point upgrades for players.

I thought he was saying the slider setting wouldn't stick in each game, so you had to go in to each games settings and fix them. It wouldn't surprise me in slightest if that was a new bug in the game.
Also silly, how have they never fixed waivers in the Be a GM. Nothing about CBA rules have been applied in 7 years.

Yeah there used to be a section in 12 where you could look at it, i know it was kind of pointless but at least you could see where they were going up. But no where to be seen in 13.
Totally agree with the fact we should be able to select the point upgrades for the players.

Man for a guy who thinks that pretty much everything about the game is horribly broken you sure do buy spend a lot of cash buying it every year.
It's not perfect but a lot of your complaints are overblown

I just keep hoping they will fix pretty simple problems and not create new ones that were never an issue in previous years.
I usually get used the the ####tyness of each new rendition after about 2 months.

I personally have never been so disappointed in a NHL release. They did a great thing with the "physics engine" but every other aspect got worse IMO.
My complaints:
- Too much emphasis on player poke checks. Stick lifts are a penalty 50% of the time. when there are 3 guys battling for the puck and one comes away with it a stick lift will be used in real life not some one handed flail with the stick. The entire defensive style is around poke checks which couldnt be further from real life.
- Short side goals + quality of goals....you have to be kidding me with some of these goals that are going in. This version is more about quantity of shots on net vs every other year it being quality.
- The goalie interference from NHL12 being gone....i agree the after whistle stuff was cheezy however disallowed goals or goalie interference calls made it fun and made you think twice about crashing the net.
Also, I went from winning over 50% of draws in NHL12 and win maybe 1 or 2 a game now. Is anything different?
Anyway, im sure ill get used to it as its not going to change + the CP league will be fun.

Hasn't been my experience. I'm like 1-4 in HUT right now, and in 4 of those games I've massively outshot my opponent, even to the tune to 2-1. Haven't got it sorted out yet.

Saw this post on the EA Forums, which I thought might be insightful to some players:
Quote:
Gentlemen and Noobs alike! Stop trying to force the cross crease, this is not NHL 12. Learn to move the puck around and cycle. You have FIVE players for a reason. The defense is not there just to bail you out every time you make a poor pass at the blue line. Shots from the point happen for a reason. When your in double overtime every game, maybe it might occur to you forwards to give the D the puck for a shot after the previous dozen failed attempts at the same wrister or cross crease??? This is not NHL 12, stop playing like it is.

They are still there, just not the cheap ones like before. To many times in EASHL if there was a human goalie he would skate into you and you'd end up in the box, it was rather annoying.
And the short side is there still, but if your playing EASHL it's pretty much all people try so it's pretty easy to defend if you know it's coming.
Some opinions so far.
I like the effectiveness of the poke check this year, mostly cause there is no stick on stick collision, and sticks still being able to go through bodies, so the powered stick check makes up for it and cause a looser puck and more randomness.
One gripe I have is the super goalies on cross crease plays. Our team had some sexy cycles to a cross crease shot and the goalie more often then not beat the puck to the outside post, but I learned that you need to hold on to the puck for a split second longer and not one time it. Hold it, collect yourself then pick the open spot, or shoot against the grain. And I found that one timers work best if the receiver is standing still, or gliding. But I am glad that they did make it harder to score. Also noticed it's harder to roof the puck on a one timer this year too, probably why the goalies save them more often the not.
All in all this is probably the most fun I've had playing NHL since they first changed the gameplay and skating in 08.

One thing I like is when I play the offline CPU is that I'm actually losing some games. In past NHL games I'd win almost every game no problem even on superstar.
