Where am I back pedalling? I've taken a position, which I may remind you is different than a fact, based upon what we have seen with other franchise purchases and with my personal experience in transactions of this type. I haven't backed off that position one bit.

You've already admitted that you have no point, now you want it back?

So the Tohono O'odam nation wins it's right for the land to build their casino in Glendale, which to me is a good thing and it's rumored that they may be part of the Jamison investment group.

Whoa!

That's interesting. Makes you wonder if that's one of the reasons that Glendale has taken a bit of an about-face to approving the deal.

UPDATE: An agenda posted ahead of a Wednesday Glendale City Council budget workshop included an overview of scenarios should voters approve a sales-tax initiative that would reverse a city sales-tax hike.
That document, which you can view here, was removed late Tuesday. I asked a Glendale spokeswoman why.
Spokeswoman Jennifer Stein told me that the document was "inadvertently posted."

Glendale city manager optimistic about Coyotes deal

http://www.azcentral.com/members/Blo...insider/171859

Three financial scenarios for Glendale:

-Glendale collects an additional $22 million in sales-tax hauls, restructures its debt and reduces spending by $5 million.

-Glendale collects only $8 million in additional sales-tax revenue, restructures its debt and reduces expenditures by $25 million.

-Glendale collects only $8 million in additional sales taxes, loses $2.5 million due to a National Hockey League lockout and is unable to restructure its debts. That would force the city to reduce its expenses by $23 million.

Council agenda shows #Glendale wants arena management fee to #Coyotes suitor Greg Jamison to decrease to $10M this year.

Budget workshop tweets from Lisa Halverstadt (too numerous to post them all):

Liberman calls for Plan B for #Coyotes arena.

Lieberman cites @globeandmail story that cited source saying Jamison is unwilling to change #Coyotes deal.

Lisa Halverstadt ‏@LisaHalverstadt
Skeete: If I can't renegotiate a deal with Jamison, I cannot present a situation where I can recommend keeping the #Coyotes.

Lisa Halverstadt ‏@LisaHalverstadt
Skeete: If we were to sign #Coyotes deal as currently approved would go to $6.1M to $7 deficit in five years.

Lisa Halverstadt ‏@LisaHalverstadt
Clark: If you take position that can't afford #Coyotes, I'd say we can't afford to lose them.

Lisa Halverstadt ‏@LisaHalverstadt
With raised voice, #Glendale Mayor Scruggs says bankruptcy changed everything and now #Coyotes suitor wants more than city can afford.

Doesn't look good for the future of the Coyotes but than again when has it looked good.

I just don't understand why some in that council are so willing to increase their debt and deficit by tossing out millions to support something that so few people care about.

That's one opinion. Mine is that Troutman's updates are worth reading and discussing. The rest is garbage imo...

Once again.... thanks for the updates Troutman...

Even Clark wants a do-over:

Lisa Halverstadt ‏@LisaHalverstadt @ghosthoffa Their current direction is not sign the deal unless it's reworked. Clark said she's among those giving that direction.

Lisa Halverstadt ‏@LisaHalverstadt Biggest #Coyotes takeaway from today's workshop: City manager makes it clear he won't sign Jamison deal unless terms are changed.

The mayor and the council are in no man's land. The latest news just proves the politics are moving where the economics have been for awhile.

Wonder how rickety jamieson's financing is? Seems like he is going to need more friends.
