Portenzo hardback case is on sale for not too much. Completely customizable too. Only for the next 24 hours though.

I am curious about this, does the cost work out cheaper even after customs, drop ship charges and gas to drive to the border? Where do you get it delivered and is it pretty straight forward?

Shame it won't be here in time for this weekend. I was hoping to play around with it while avoiding housework.

Apparently there are some in a warehouse right now that will be shipped out to retail locations on Monday.

Future Shop's website is showing them in stock in all of their Calgary stores.
Might grab one and return the shipped one when it gets here.

I will have an extra unit when the one I had shipped arrives. Send me a PM if you want it, otherwise it's going back to Future Shop

Went to Future Shop (NE) and Best Buy (NE) tonight. Both places are sold out.
Called Memory Express (the new one on 32nd ave), and had 1 put on hold for me.
I picked up this case at Future shop. Uses a magnet to hold the cover closed:

Best buy had something similar. Not much choice out there...unless you look online.
I'm looking forward to getting mine!

Yeah I called future shop earlier and not only were they unwilling to put one on hold for me, they wouldn't even confirm whether or not they had any in stock. In spite of my pointing out that I didn't want to drive there for no reason. Thankfully memoryex has them and is willing to hold them, so I'm posting this from mine, sync'd up to my blackberry's data for the internet connection. It's pretty great although why it doesn't play avi I don't understand.

Yep, I'm currently doing that thing I do whenever I get a new gadget which is loading it up with good apps and stuff. Dice is fine, though I do hope they eventually provide an upgrade so that the native player will just do it.
Watchthenews is my favourite so far. Mint is a pretty fantastic personal finance app. I have a few others but those two are the best. If anyone has any other suggestions for apps, post away.

My only issue with the tablet so far isn't in fact the tablet at all. I purchased some of the Zagg "Invisibleshield" for the screen for 30 bucks at Futureshop, and had them install it for a further 20 bucks (with the thing being that they'll replace it from now on whenever it bubbles or whatever), but there seems to be- after doing some online research- a bit of an inherent flaw with their screen covers. It's of a good quality and protects the screen well, but there are a series of perfectly straight vertical lines that resemble scratches within the material itself, which become annoyingly noticeable on screens that are fairly blank and light in colour (reading a web page, PDF, etc.).
I'm thinking of getting Futureshop to throw another one on, yet I hear it's likely that the next one they throw on will have the same issue.

Honestly, this Hipstreet case is really good.
I'm really impressed with the battery life. I watched a 2 hour movie, in HD last night (from full power), and at the end I was at 89% power remaining. This is STREAMING over WiFi.

Very strange. The only difference I noticed on the link is that the name of the corporation it comes from has changed from Yellowknife Cable to Gigacity.
Maybe Gigacity won't ship to Calgary?
Try this link instead (I found it by searching for Yellowknife Cable's items for sale) - http://www.amazon.ca/GMYLE-Leather-H...A1A4WDMXI70UAF

So last year for my birthday my GF bought me an Ipad, and I returned it. The 32 gig with warranty, case, all that jazz came to about $800 bucks. I played around on it for a day and said this is not worth 800 bucks.
I am curious what this device costs, all in. The 200 bucks is with a standard Google mail away warranty I am guessing? Case and screen protector is another 100 bucks?
