Im guessing it will add some war assets, maybe Leviathan will fly in to the final space battle with you and some added dialogue with the Catalyst about Reaper origins. I don't see it altering the ending in any drastic way.

well if Leviathan can kill reapers by itself, maybe that's a way to say screw the catalyst and win the war in a conventional way. of course i realize how much of a stretch that would be and your theory is more likely correct, i can dream

The rumor is Leviathan may be the 1st Reaper and it went "rogue". Mike Gamble tweeted( https://twitter.com/GambleMike/statu...63270768615424) that this DLC does not change the ending in any drastic way....unfortunately.

God how I wish this would be the case. Make the refusal ending a not!eff-you from BioWare. I'm with you though, I don't see it happening and it'll probably be just war assets.
Still, I can't help but be a BioWhore and be anxious for Leviathan. I love the MP but I'm glad there'll be new single-player content.

Yeah I'm just gonna use my save before the Cerberus base to play Leviathan. I only have one Shepard (well two - one on 360 and one on PS3 but I kinda regret playing Mass Effect on PS3 :S) and as much as I'm cool with playing ME1 and 2 again at some point, I kinda don't wanna play 3 again, at least not anytime soon.

So I played through Leviathan tonight and it ended up pretty good. It's no Lair of the Shadow Broker (the DLC by which all DLC should be modeled after if you ask me), but still pretty good. They went for a dark sci-fi feel to the whole thing which worked well.
The last 15 minutes or so were excellent, and added a lot of interesting lore to the reapers. I'm tempted to finish the game again to see if anything has changed at the end, armed with this knowledge.

I've never personally been a fan of the Mass Effect series. I always enjoyed TPS games but I could never get into Mass Effect. Maybe I'll give ME3 a try, I never did try that one, only ME2

Maybe it's because you started with the wrong game?

Every human on earth, in some small way, is a fan of the Mass Effect series somewhere deep within their soul.

I am in the same boat. I love Mass Effect and I don't think any other game or games has gotten as much play time as what I've invested into the Mass Effect series. But every time I think about playing the third one I am immediately deflated by thoughts of the ending.

I was already mid-way through a second playthrough of ME3 anyway, so I picked up Leviathan and played it last night.
It was ok, but I'm not sure I'd recommend it to anyone outside of really hardcore ME fans. There are three combat segments that aren't really anything that you haven't already seen before. There's a bit of somewhat interesting exposition about the origins of the Reapers in the last 10 minutes, but if you really want to see that, you could just watch a YouTube video.
Apparently if you complete Leviathan, it adds a few more conversation options with the Starchild at the end. I'm just before the Cerberus base mission now, so I'll let you know in a day or two if anything changes there.
And for those wondering, Luder's earlier guess was correct: completing Leviathan simply adds about 400 points to your war asset score (plus a few other miscellaneous assets you can collect from scanning planets along the way). It won't change the ending to allow you to defeat the Reapers in a conventional sense.

I actually started with ME2 (on my PS3 before I got a 360) and loved it from the start.
Aaaand then I got ME1 and loved it too, especially its RPG elements.
I agree, Leviathan was pretty interesting. Nothing new in combat, you learn a bit about the Reapers and you get to watch your love interest freak out. =P I've been too lazy to play all the way through to the endgame again myself, because London just really annoys me.
Still hoping for Omega DLC though.

So... finally got ME3. Feel like I'm missing a lot of story without the ME2 DLCs, and I just started.
A few questions to make the most of my playtime:
What's the best class for insanity? I was Sentinel in ME2 but Tech Armour seems to be massively nerfed.
I won't be installing Extended Cut right away (I want to see what people were complaining about), but should I install the other free DLCs right away? Like will I be mis-using my playtime in Multiplayer if I don't have all the species installed for random drops?

I would install the multiplayer DLCs if I were you. There's nothing wrong with the default classes, maps and weapons but there's a lot of DLC ones that I wound up enjoying a lot more. Plus if you're playing with friends you all need to have the same DLCs installed. And if you're just playing with randoms, you won't be limited when the game's trying to find a match for you.

Don't bother... just play with the EC (which doesn't help much) and if you're that interested watch the original version on youtube. It's not worth the cost of repairing the TV you'll break after throwing things at it.

^ Seems to be an Origin thing. It's one reason I'm glad I can't play the PC version, otherwise, I wish I could.
