This is your mind playing tricks on you thinking you are getting better service. When you expect bad service, no matter what happens you'll be whining about something.
Nurses and doctors don't give a crap what you are wearing since they make no more or no less from any patient.

Perhaps, or we could replace them with people who have the ability to put aside personal beliefs and perform their jobs competently. If you can't manage to do that I don't have a lot of faith in your ability to perform the other functions of your job.

Why is everyone assuming he went into the hospital and was difficult? I mean, aside from his appearance perhaps he behaved entirely reasonably and that the hospital employee was just simply way out of line? The way the hospital is apologizing with no caveats is quite telling to me. Even in the hypothetical exchanges posted earlier in this thread, posters included the goth kid somehow taunting the employee which I think is unfair. Most goths I know aren't the type to run around "playing their card all the time...proudly holding out their inverted crosses" as their appearance alone is the statement in itself.

He probably dislikes the way you dress. Who cares? Being a goth isn't the issue, though a few in here seem like they would like it to be.

He's not interested in making a first impression when he goes to a hospital for treatment, he's interested in treatment.

Just to clarify this a little more:
Had the clerk been an atheist that refused this patient admittance because he was wearing a religious symbol would have been equally inappropriate.

Agreed. It would be the same thing.

Probably tripped on his trench coat catching up to the bus. Have you seen those massive, billowing things? It's an inalienable part of the uniform, even in 35 degree heat. I always assume they must be custom-made; perhaps hand-sewn from the flesh of sheepish conformists.

Some of you guys are making it sound like he went to a job interview and wasn't treated the same as everyone else. He went to the damn hospital. You can make all the justifications you want, but at the end of the day, there's zero room for discrimination at a hospital. People show up, they get addmitted, then they get treated. That's how it works in this country.

The ironic thing is that one of Jesus' most basic teachings was to accept everyone, regardless of what you think of them or their lifestyle.
Apparently this particular devout Christian forgot that part.
But at least this gives us another instance for which to bash religion.

Where are the people citing "We've only heard one side of the story"?
Oh right, any chance to bash religion.
A lot of people are taking his words at face value.
So typical. precious Flame's prospect gets charged with a serious assault, and people want to hear the full story, wait until it goes to court, wait until he's convicted before they form an opinion.
But this guy obviously gets the benefit of the doubt, he seems like a real winner.

Who's bashing on religion? I haven't read anything in this thread that I would think constitutes "bashing." Actually, I think I'd have to be the poster closest to "bashing" by referring to God as a fictional character, but until proven otherwise that is in fact an accurate statement.

Hir sir, what's the issue? I haven't had a bowel movement in a long time and was told to show up here.
Eeewwwwww, disgusting! Not so good at first impressions, are you? Maybe try Foothills, I'm not really comfortable having a guy with a poop problem in my waiting room.

I agree.
The hospital is working hard to diffuse this and their comments seem to be generally on the side of agreeing the complaint has merit.
You would expect more professionalism in that setting.
If you got something to say to the kid, do it on the sidewalk out front.
