Default 1989 Calgary Flames Championship buckle

So this might be a weird question, but I received a gift today and would like to know if anyone knows this history of it by any chance, or could offer any information.

The gift is a 1989 Calgary flames championship belt buckle, a picture of the Stanley Cup and on the back has an unique buckle number and copyright 1989 Calgary Flames hockey club.

Apparently the gift was originally given to someone from a certain owner of the flames.

I can't find a picture of one online, but it does not look like the one in this link (it has a gold trim, gold letters, gold Stanley cup and silver background)

http://forum.calgarypuck.com/showthread.php?t=115970

I guess my question is, does anyone know anything about these things, is there some sort of tradition behind it?

Also, sorry, not interested in selling it, just would like to learn a bit about the sweet gift!

Thank you,

Kavy

will do and should have done already but was running out the door when I started the thread. I was sort of assuming it was something which was common, but as I wasn't able to google a image of it I may be inccorect.

Got around to taking a picture

Spoiler!

It is really weird I can't find anything on google at all. Its a pretty cool gift, I just want to make sure its not important and I need to give it back because the owner who gave it to me isn't aware or something. The back makes mention "second in a series of 500 gold & silver 1000 brass"... any idea what the means?

The back also says copyright Calgary flames hockey club.

It has a unique buckle number that isn't number 2.

Oh my god, that is awesome... and although you're not looking to sell it, I'd love to rent it off of you the second week in July, 2013.

I have one, but it's not as nice as that one. They sold them in late 1989. I got mine for Christmas that year.

They had two versions, one was brass -- that's what I have, and the other was gold -- that's what this looks like.

Both versions were limited editions and numbered on the back. They also made different ones for the conference championship in 86, which had the logo in the middle.

Sweet, explains the brass and gold descriptions on the back! Thank you, exactly what I was looking for!
