Well then one of them isn't posting the correct specs on their site.
Having 700mhz LTE is important because I figure 2013-2014 they will build out LTE on those spectrum and at that time the S3 would probably still be a damn good phone to have.

There are 1.3 million Android devices being activated everyday. The S3 accounts for 15% of those.
Combined with the Galaxy Nexus, S2 and the S1, they are probably around 30% of all Android devices just in the Galaxy family.

They are even crazier in China, where Android accounts for 83% of the smartphone market share. Why? Apple products are too expensive.

And there are only 5 Apple stores in China, 2 in Beijing and and 3 in Shanghai. I was at one of the Shanghai ones and one of the Beijing ones, insanely busy as you cna imagine.

And? Who cares how many Apple stores there are. China/India are the biggest emerging smartphone markets in the world, and Android is pretty much in control of China.
If people in China were buying up the iPhone in droves, Apple would add more stores. Its their own fault if they don't.

Easy tiger, just pointing out that Apple doesn't have a lot of exposure to the Chinese market mostly because it is a higher priced phone. Android has a huge presence in these markets because cheap handsets out of China all carry android. You only have to walk through a Beijing electronics market to see how many android phones you can buy for $25.

Do they sell a Galaxy III that is fully unlocked and will work with on any carrier? I wouldn't mind getting one to finish our contract with Rogers and then moving to Wind later on.

All S3s can be unlocked with a code, but the S3 that is out for rogers/bell/telus is different from the one for wind/mobilicity so they are not compatible.

Thanks. I guess what I meant to ask is if there is a model of the Galaxy III that is compatible with all carriers? Similar to the unlocked version of the Galaxy Nexus.

The plan pricing is pretty much the same (within $20 IIRC) as the same iPhone 4s, as of a couple weeks ago.

Is there a smaller version of the S3? The size of the thing is what's keeping me from buying it... the thing is suppose to be a smart 'phone' not a mini tablet.

if you try it out it really isn't as big as it looks (nexus also works if you want to try a similar sized phone). since i've gotten used to it my ipod touch feels like it's been shrinking more and more. for me, too big is when you can't use it with one hand and i am fine working the S3 with one hand

Even if you picked up something like an S2 (4.3 inch screen), you would still find the S3 (4.8 inch screen) more comfortable to hold especially with one hand. the size difference would then be a plus with the bigger screen, not the other way around.
Unless you have miniscule hands and tiny pockets.
Surprisingly one of the most popular notes in Asia; China and HK specifically is the Note.

I thought the exact same thing before buying it. You get used to the size surprisingly fast. The phone is thin and has a rounded back. This lets it slide in and out of pockets really easily. It's much easier to get into and out of my pocket than my previous HTC Desire. It's also very comfortable in the hand.
The screen size also makes watching Youtube and other videos a lot better.
