If the Flames go on a losing skid I don't know what I'll do!
Look after the most important parts of life. I hope you and your family are looking after each other through these difficult times.

Best wishes to your father Shawn. You are one of my favorite posters on the board. I am hoping for the best.
PS......I am the "gamethread babysitter" but I guess I can't be for Flames games.

Update for everyone....
Dad is feeling a bit better, the treatment in Kelowna is helping with the pain; it's just too bad he was sent home too early last weekend. That set him right back.
Have been able to spend quite a bit of time with him, and he appreciates it.
Passed along all your well wishes, and he sends his thanks to you all.
Must run, take care everyone. And Sunil, nice touch. Thank you. Dad does too.

That is great to hear Shawnski.
Spending time with your DAD is wonderful. Get him into your new place, ughh, the new place and your dad , but you can be with your dad and that will mean lots in the future. You are not married ,argue with your old pa!
It is a good experience if you ask the questions.
Be humble or humbler!
Try it bud ,your Dad just faced a life threatning experience maybe his thought processes changed a bit.
Not sure what I am trying to say, but I mean well.
Give your Dad and Mom a hug right now!!!!!

Great to hear Shawnski.
One bad thing about living in the West Kootenays is that you have to go to places like Kelowna or Vancouver to get proper treatment for any serious illnesses.
Be nice if there was a decent facility in Trail or Castlegar so your dad wouldn't have to travel so far to get the medical care and attention he needs and deserves.
Hope he continues to improve. Tell him golf season is just around the corner, that should cheer him up!

Hi all. Again, thank you for your support. It is quite appreciated.
Dad has stabilized to the point he was able to return to his home Saturday, and is feeling better both physically and mentally. This is great news for him and all the family that came from across the continent to see him.
I am sticking with the belief that he is a tough nut and will fend this off for a while longer. He wants to golf some more this summer...
Will see you all tomorrow night on the game thread... should be back in time for it as I am returning tomorrow.
Thanks again. Your messages of concern were delivered and welcomely received.
Shawn

Really glad to hear that things going well for your dad. I went through exactly the same situation with my dad late last year when I had to fly to England at a moments notice to be with him. It's so important to spend time with your parents in their time of need. I will always look back at the time I spent with my dad as the best thing I ever did.
Best wishes to you and your dad, Shawn.
