...what do you care? It's discussion-worthy in the context of this thread. Perhaps we should ignore information that pertains to this discussion?

I find it sad that people need to lash out against other cities because theirs can't support a hockey team.

Do you ever feel bad that you have really cheap hockey tickets, while Glendale is forced to cut municipal services?

I find it sad that you find it sad, which is likely because you fail to see the glaring relevance. The Glendale election could have a significant impact on the fate of the team, making it pertinent to this discussion.

I find it sad that the 6th largest city in the US has the worst attendance in the NHL.

Sorry but I just read that article a whole lot different from what you quoted. The quotes in there from Jamison and Bill Daly sound very vaugue and uncertain. And you didn't mention the COG, and I quote.

"in a Monday closed-door session, the Glendale City Council directed administrators not to sign the deal with Jamison until he buys the team and amendments can be made to some terms of the deal."

and

"Since June, the city and the NHL have been saying the next step is for Mr. Jamison to purchase the team, at which time the city was ready to sign the agreement. At this time, in light of other issues, the council has asked us to go back and look at options that are feasible in terms of the management agreement."

"Glendale spokeswoman Julie Frisoni said the city has made it clear that it won't sign the deal with Jamison until he purchases the team."

"There were a lot of political things that came as a part of this that had to be overcome. It took a long time to put a deal together but now we're at the point where I'm prepared to go forward and sign the deal with the city," Jamison said. "That's the next thing that needs to be settled and then we can move forward."

it appears that Glendale is not an absolute moron... that sweatheart deal should be given to NO ONE but the owner of the team. NO WAY do they sign the deal until his group is the official owner of the Yotes.

Frankly the only difference between Bouw's recent post and the original one for this thread is that Jamison is named...

Uneasy Glendale looks for changes to Phoenix Coyotes deal

http://www.bizjournals.com/phoenix/n...o-phoenix.html

The city worries if the sales tax measure goes to the November ballot and the increase is reversed it won’t be able to afford the Coyotes deal.

The Arizona Supreme Court is considering the ballot measure case and Glendale’s argument that it should not go to the November ballot.

Glendale spokeswoman Julie Frisoni said the council has instructed city staff to come up with some new arena options.

Those options could be presented to Jamison tonight.

Glendale could look to pay Jamison less money to run Jobing.com Arena, change the annual payment structure or looking for more revenue in the deal.

The Jamison camp also says Glendale is trying to change the terms of the lease deal and payments to the Coyotes.

The two sides have been holding private meetings on the sale and the lease deal.

Thus starts the end of the Coyote saga we are all sick of. Just move them already.

Still laughing at how certain council members are furiously trying to get this motion done before, they KNOW, the time where it will likely get rejected come the November ballot.

Just smacks of desperation.

Except for a man and a GROUP of investors who are willing and ready to drop 100's of millions of dollars on it.
