I really think Kirkman is catering to the graphic novel audience and not the single issue folks with his stories. I enjoy the GN format because you get an entire arc of the story without having to wait each month. As a whole there's enough meat to the story to keep me engaged.
Crap I totally forgot about the game. Can you still get episode 1 and 2? That is the price.

Yes you can still get episode 1 and 2, I loved episode 2. I think they are 400 microsoft points per episiode, so like $5 or something.
The game is very comic book like, if you enjoy the comics I think you will enjoy the games. Each episode probably takes about an hour to finish, but so far I have found myself wanting to play each episode multiple times because your choices do effect who lives/dies and how people view you.
Another cool little thing is after each episode it shows your choices and what percentage of people made the same decision that you did.
For me I would say anyone who is a fan of the comics or show this is a must buy. It has more of a comic book feel to me than the show, but that shouldn't turn anyone off if they have not read the comics.
Gameplay is pretty easy to get used to, when you talk to someone your 4 face buttons give you 4 different ways to ask or answer a question. Combat is pretty simple, the game isn't really about the combat and more how you interact with the people and the choices you make.
The only down side is that episodes seem to be coming out once every 2 months instead of once a month.

1. You can still buy the package for $20 and the individual episodes for $5.
2. The game is very good. It's more of an interactive story where you also choose your character's path at critical points. You search the environment, solve puzzles, and make choices around; what to do next, what to say to people, and even who dies. Each episode takes close to two hours to complete. I highly recommend checking it out.
3. Season 3 starts on October 14th.

Dexter then The Walking Dead, TV is going to get good again, well at least Sunday nights. I don't follow the comic book so I can't wait to see where the group ends up next.
I've read the comics up to date and I agree it moves at a snails pace.. it is almost painful to read.
A successful comic has to address the cliff hanger from the end of the last comic and have a solid transition into the next cliffhanger..
For me a cliffhanger isn't an entire comic of someone waiting on someone for something to happen. You can fill in any names and/or events in those someone's and it will be about 50-60 of the comics.

A lot of people were thrown when the suave David Morrissey was cast to play one of the most evil and barbaric characters in comic book culture in the Governor. (Much like the way people were thrown when “that British guy from Love Actually” was cast to play steely sheriff’s deputy Rick Grimes). But after going and seeing Morrissey in character on set, it was clear to me that when season 3 of The Walking Dead picks up on AMC Oct. 14, the Governor we meet will be a different beast from the one we were introduced to in the comic book — at least at first. Morrissey’s Governor is a much more political animal with a messiah complex — one whose evil lurks behind a shiny exterior.
Morrissey took a few minutes out from fondling a big knife for one of our four new Walking Dead Entertainment Weekly covers to offer some insight as to how the TV Governor differs from the comic version. “We probably meet the Governor earlier in his journey,” says Morrissey “I think he has more complexity than in the comic book.” So instead of coming across a complete lunatic, as in the comic, expect to see the seeds of lunacy being planted right before our eyes: “The things that make him the way he is happen to him on screen. We see them happening.”
For the hyper sensitive, these may be spoilers, but it's talk about the overall character direction, nothing really specific.

actually in regards to the governor storyline, the comic is extremely graphic and morbid. likely this change was done because they just can't show what happened in the comic on network TV

I don't read the comics as I find them pretty 'meh', but I don't think they shoot Lori and the baby. No show has the balls to do big moves like this (minus The Wire and Game of Thrones). Though if they do go through with it and kill her and the baby, this show will go down as a top 5 show for that reason alone. I loathe the character and the actor so much.

put Boardwalk Empire in your "ballsy" list as well. this fall is going to be awesome for TV
well Walking Dead is different than say Game of Thrones because the TV series is only loosely based on the books. there are characters that are in the books that aren't in the series and vice versa, and the characters that are in both are written very differently. the plots can differ wildly at times (Sophia's and Shane's arcs are way better in the TV series than in the comics), and even though they are going to the prison, there are several big differences between how they got there and who is part of the group that does, so i have no idea what's going to happen in the show
i'm not saying that the spoilers here are ok to read if you really want to have zero idea of what could come next, but think of them more of suggestions or fan predictions than what will actually happen
